A Christmas to remember! We did the 3 night break over Christmas 2024 and the service, food and atmosphere was impeccable. We are firm fans of the hotel and spa and visit regularly but felt the food went up a notch in recent months and the service too. We both had treatments and said it was the most relaxed we had been in a longtime. I felt the staff couldn’t do enough to help us make magical moments for our little boy and for that we really appreciate the efforts (especially the doorman who took us on a buggy tour to find the bunnies thank you!) The only slight hiccup to the stay was the Boxing Day ball, advertised as a 3 course dinner was actually a buffet which is tricker with a little one in tow, so should be advertised as such, but all in all an excellent stay and felt like value for money. Will be back again soon!

What an experience. Faultless.
This is by far the nicest hotel we have ever stayed. They just got the perfect mix between a nice fancy treat but also making you feel really comfortable and relaxed. The staff were very friendly. We stayed in suite and the room was flawless. The spa was also the best we have visited in the north east. The spa garden was a lovely little extra too.

Fabulous hotel
From start to finish an amazing stay.
We stayed in Tiplady Lodge which is the cheaper option, but we weren’t disappointed. The room was a lovely size with different seating areas.
The spa wasn’t the biggest but it had plenty going on.
Our meal in the clubhouse was beautiful. From the clubhouse we wandered up the lit path back to the main house for cocktails in the comfortable cocktail lounge.
Breakfast in the orangery was fabulous too, but mostly it’s the service which makes this place great.

Hidden Gem
This place is a HUGE hidden gem!
From start to finish, the service, staff, spa, value for money, everything was fantastic! We have stayed in many many hotels in the UK and this hotel has to be our favourite. The secret garden spa for an extra £25pp is worth every penny!
We stayed in Tiplady 4 and it was perfect sitting outside as it was south facing so ordered a bottle of wine and nibbles before going to Nu Sana for an evening meal.
Nu Sana food was brilliant and we had breakfast in the orangery.
Highly recommend this place. We will be returning without a doubt

As always, a wonderful stay at Rockliffe Hall! The staff can’t do enough for you and always make you feel special. Gorgeous room and fabulous food at the Clubhouse, finished off with a delicious cocktail in the bar.

I went for Christmas afternoon tea in The Orangery at almost £60pp with my parents for a bougie little treat before Christmas. The setting was beautiful, the staff were lovely and the drinks were delicious. But the food? Well...the sandwiches were nice and they were adjusted to cover allergies we have. The cakes were yummy but I've had crackerbread with more moisture than those scones. They were overmixed, stale and no amount of double cream (no clotted cream here I'm afraid) could fix that dryness. The booking cost extra due to the choir who was to be signing carols while we ate, but that lasted maybe 5 minutes and while they were good they certainly weren't worth the £8 up charge to hear. If you don't care about what you're eating and simply going because you want to go for Afternoon Tea in a 5 star establishment then this is perfect for you. But if you'd rather spend your hard earned money on something that doesn't taste like it's been sat for three days before being served then I'd avoid here and find an alternative. Very disappointed.
