Hampton Inn Huntington University Area

The hotel was located just minutes away from my work and close to several dining choices. The staff was very friendly and the only complaint i would have was there was some noise coming from the room above but that's not the fault of the hotel.

Very friendly staff great place to stay! Definitely would recommend this property to others. The breakfast was very well taken care of. Even with this property being under renovation it is still very well kept up. All staff was very professional and really cared about their job and how their hotel is presented.

Front desk was awesome when I checked in. They helped me with anything I needed. The breakfast was delicious and fully stocked. The rooms have been recently remodeled and looked great! You can tell the employees take great pride in the property as everyone was friendly and took excellent care of it while I was there.

The staff are the friendliest people I've worked with. Very accommodating, which was very much appreciated as we were in Huntington on a medical emergency. The rooms were very clean and newly renovated, the breakfast was perfect for our needs. Makayla, Dee and Shay were especially nice, making us feel welcome and comfortable during a tough week!

I travel to Huntington yearly and have stayed here on several occasions. The hotel is showing its age a little, but they are in the process of remodeling. I always receive excellent customer service and this time they went above and beyond. I was checking in on the day of the global Microsoft software issue. When I arrived, I had been driving all day and needed to shower and change in order to get to a function in a couple of hours. They told me that I couldn't check in because they were unable to make keys or run credit cards. I very upset and exploring other possibilities so that I could get to my function on time. The ladies at the desk were very sympathetic and said they were working on the problem, but did not know when it would be fixed. There were other guests sitting in the lobby with the same issue. A few minutes later they came and asked if I had checked in online and requested a digital key (which I had, but the key had not shown up on my app). They went back to the office and kept working on it. In a few minutes I got a text that my credit card had been billed--progress. I still did not receive a key, so they went back and worked on it a little longer. Within a few minutes the key showed up on my phone and I was able to get in a room, get cleaned up and arrived at my function on time. They were all so happy to be able to get me where I needed to be, and showed that this was not just a job, but that they truly cared about their customers. Precious, Dee, & Mikala continued to provided excellent service the whole stay and made what could have been a frustrating situation (through no fault of theirs) have a happy ending. I will definitely stay here again when traveling to Huntington.

My partner woke up in the middle of the night to discover that she was being bitten by bed bugs. She got up, took a cel phone picture, informed the hotel, then checked out to move down the road. The hotel refunded points used for the stay only after we complained. The GM has never accepted our call and told Hilton corporate that they called an exterminator who claims to have found no evidence. We have photos that were verified by an entomologist. The entomologist also said that there is a probable infestation of some degree and that it's highly improbable that the problem would be confined to only one room.

Overnight stay while traveling from Virginia to Indiana for the solar eclipse. Our room was exactly what you would expect from a Hampton Inn, and all that was needed for our quick stay. Check-in was a breeze, receptionist was friendly. Room was clean, and quiet. Plenty of free parking. Breakfast was the usual quick bites. Toast, waffles, omelet, sausage,bacon, breakfast breads and muffins. Other than bananas & apples, nothing very healthy. Coffee was good. No complaints, would easily stay here again when traveling this way.

This was an underwhelming hotel experience. We were not greeted by someone was happy to see us. Nor did we receive our bottle of water. No goodies were out during check in. The room seems older but adequate. There was a sign by the elevator telling us about stink bugs. Fortunately we didn’t see any. Breakfast was adequate. We were lucky that they had some extra strawberries and had made a delicious parfait!

The people were friendly but the hotel is not what I come to expect from Hampton. The rooms were hot and noisy. The pillows were not comfortable and the breakfast starting running out of things and not replacing an hour before breakfast ended. I have reservations for a Hampton in Winston Salem in June. After this stay I may switch to Fairfield.
