The Three Swans Hotel, Hungerford, Berkshire

A very nice hotel. The room was warm and tidy. The restaurant was good with many food to choose. Easy to find the hotel.

Had a great stay. Booked 5 rooms ranging from an apartment doubles and singles all ok. Tired in places but we were all happy with our stay. I think a modified comment for booking dot com saying restricted access to car park as we had a large van supporting a charity ride and had to park on the street but not secure our cycles in the back but put them in the rooms. Very happy with exception to the breakfast could start earlier. Would stay and recommend.

I have used the hotel many times for work, this time it was used as a base for the Morris dancing side I am with in Kent. the staff could not be more helpful, very friendly. The rooms are very comfortable and clean (I have been in different ones on all my visit). there are lots of food choices in the restaurant and the prices are reasonable. I cannot fault the hotel and have already booked to go back.

The free parking area was easy to find and close by. The receptionist asked had we booked dinner, we had, and she told us to come down to the restaurant between 7 and 9, We went down at 7.30 to be told the restaurant closed at 7 o'clock, the chef was still there and knocked us up a bit of dinner but we were very underwhelmed. A shame as it looked to be a very pleasant place for a meal. Our room was okay, there was a roll top bath in the centre of a big space then a door into a tiny shower room with the smallest shower cubicle you could imagine. The toiletries supplied were very nice. It felt understaffed and the management and staff training seemed poor.

We called here for Sunday lunch we have been before, we werent able to sit in the restaurant as it was closed so we sat in the alternative ? where people walk past you to get to the loo not my idea of elegant eating. The food was bland the meat was tasteless the gravey was thin and tasteless the roast potates were white hardly roasted nor was the parsnip. Why is it these places think they can serve a plate of food with a large yorkshire pudding without any effort I dont think anyone had tasted the food and the Yorkshire had a very dull taste to it, not worth £17.95 I think the chef needs to up their game I wont be back.

In the heart of Hungerford it was a pleasure to stay at The Three Swans. The staff team were so friendly and helpful. The food from their chefs excellent and reasonably priced. The accommodation very comfortable. Plenty of plug sockets, comfortable bed. Only one very minor suggestions. A light over the dressing table would be helpful. The outdoor space is next to the annex rooms and was a bit noisy until around 11.30pm. Parking is also limited to pay annd display anlthough plenty of on street parking free from 6pm until 8 am. Overall a very pleasant stay.

This was a one night stay we had the deluxe room this was on the second floor with two flights of stairs the second set being quite steep which my wife found a bit difficult to climb room was clean but could do with a freshen up and the window cleaned

I don’t know where to start with the frustrations I experienced with this hotel. Although the parking is handy and cheap, I had to download the App to pay. Parking is free over night starting at 6am. As the app wouldn’t let me pay in advance I had to set my alarm for 6am!! Even finding my room was a trial. All it needed was a sign at the top of the annex stairs. The sign on the door cannot be seen when it’s open. It would have saved me trips up and down stairs with my suitcase. Having travelled all day and needing a meal at 4pm and the bar supposedly serving a full menu was told I could have sandwiches or a salad. The salad I chose was not forthcoming and I was eventually told the order hadn’t been put through. About to leave, it arrived BUT it was almost inedible and very small. When I complained about the price for an awful salad I was told that ‘salads are expensive’. Grrrr! All the time this was going on 3 members of staff chatted. They all need training in the art of service. Having said all that the room was clean, comfortable and well decorated. Quite hot but there was a fan which I used. All in all I will be returning to the hotel I usually use in Newbury which is sad as Hungerford is a super town.
