It's a little far from the station, but it's about 150 NTD by taxi from Hualien Station. The staff don't speak Japanese, but they will speak to you in English. I really liked how they tried their best to explain things to me. The information in the facility is written in Japanese, so it's not too difficult.
It's about a 15-minute walk to Dongdaemun Night Market, but if you go through Sunrise Xiangxi Avenue, it's wide, safe, and very pleasant.
It's within walking distance of the downtown area, so it's close to restaurants and shopping spots, and it was a very comfortable hotel.
I had originally booked a different hotel, but it was canceled due to maintenance caused by the earthquake, so I stayed at this hotel instead.
I had a very comfortable stay and would like to stay here again.
