Stayed two nights in October, one night in a king room with just my wife and I to celebrate our anniversary, then picked up the kids (5 & 9) and stayed in a two queen room with a pull out couch. The Great - The property is really beautiful, kept up, and the amenities are even better. As many have said the Roman Bath is awesome. We came on a week when the high temp was low 60's so lounging in a 90 degree pool felt awesome. The sports complex was also very nice. Three indoor tennis courts or pickleball courts, a racquetball court, outdoor basketball, and ping pong, pool, and some free arcade games in the lounge area. There is also three total pools on the property, the Roman Bath, another nice outdoor pool, and an indoor lap pool, all of which were clean and enjoyed by the whole family. It looked like the golf, restaurants, bar, and the cigar room were popular with a lot of people but we didn't use any of those amenities. There really was plenty to do, the only thing my wife and I mentioned would have been nice is if there were some sort of walking path you could walk around the property or golf courses, but that's just us. Staff all seemed great. Wherever I turned there seemed to be someone on staff working, and every encounter I had with one of them was pleasant throughout my stay. The Not So Great - The king room we stayed in was pretty small, like turn your body to walk past your spouse to get to the bathroom small. The two queen with the couch was much bigger, it even had a table for us to sit at which was very nice. Each room had nice robes in it. Our first night we put them on and they felt great, unfortunately my wife put her hand in the pocket of her robe and pulled out some used tissues from the last person, so that made the robes WAY less awesome and kind of made us question the cleanliness of the room. I didn't notice any other cleanliness issues however. Only other issue was the pull out bed on the couch. I'm not sure how I drew the short straw to sleep on that but it felt like there was nothing separating the bed springs from the bed sheet. I could feel every spring on my body and that made for a rough night of sleep. General Tips - I read a previous review on here that the summer gets busy and to come in October for a smaller crowd. I can confirm that there didn't seem to be that many people there. There was barely anyone using the pools at any time (again, it's October) but even the sports complex wasn't bad. I could see it being a problem in the summer though if you wanted to play tennis but people had already signed up to use the courts ahead of you. The Resort does provide all sports equipment which was nice, even smaller racquets for the kiddos. There are plenty of restaurants and a Target/Meijer just a couple miles away if you forget something or if you prefer to not use the Resort's restaurants. Overall, I really enjoyed the Grand Resort as both a place to celebrate a couple's getaway AND as a place to take the family.
