Normally, electrical outlets are located above the bedside table. It's difficult to modify the wiring in older hotels, but it would be best to fix it, otherwise the ear-piercing sound of the bedside table rubbing against the floor is unbearable. Secondly, all the doors in the room are the old-fashioned wooden doors, which don't insulate well. Unlike the newer hotel doors, they don't have a soft cushioning effect when closing. Also, wooden doors swell when damp, sometimes getting stuck when you close them and requiring a lot of force to slam them shut with a loud bang, which also causes noise. Everything else is fine, but I'm a light sleeper, so I can't stand the noise. I haven't slept very well these past two nights."
