Normally, electrical outlets are located above the bedside table. Secondly, all the doors in the room are the old-fashioned wooden doors, which don't insulate well. Unlike the newer hotel doors, they don't have a soft cushioning effect when closing. Also, wooden doors swell when damp, sometimes getting stuck when you close them and requiring a lot of force to slam them shut with a loud bang, which also causes noise.
