Hotel Onyarbi

What a lovely hotel. Rooms are modern and super clean. The ladies who worked on reception were so kind and helpful to us. We had breakfast at the hotel which was excellent value. We would highly recommend this hotel when staying in Hondarribia.

Lovely clean hotel in great location with friendly helpful reception . However, walls are thin and you can hear everything next door. Also, parking is advertised but there isn’t any! You have to street park. (Only free from 2000 to 1000). No tea/coffee in room and reception is in back of hotel tucked away in dark alley. (Not on Main Street). TV Channels only Spanish/ No SKY / English Channels.

My wife and I were traveling to Spain for a wedding in San Sebastián. The prices there seemed high and we heard it has more of a party atmosphere but we were looking for more of a quiet, relaxing week. The prices in Hondarribia were much more reasonable and Hotel Onyarbi got great reviews so we booked. From the moment we arrived the staff (especially Miriam) was friendly, attentive, and very accommodating to all of our needs. Breakfast is simple but very fresh and tasty. For all other meals there are dozens of fantastic restaurants within a five to ten minute walk through the beautiful town. Beds are comfortable (a little more on the firm side), rooms are very quiet, and you have control over the temperature. (A/C works great) The only problem we had was figuring out transportation from the airport. It’s only a five minute drive but when you land there are dozens of people looking for a taxi but none in sight. Take the 21 bus. It runs from the airport to town and drops you off across the street from the hotel. If we return to this part of Spain we will definitely rebook at Hotel Onyarbi.

The Hôtel is in a very central location, clean and staff friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we booked room 4 for 2 nights which is the room with circular bath. We had just showered after checking in and were relaxing after our trip when the noise started . The hotel is below an apartment block. The entrance door and gate to the apartment block are above room 4. Every time someone leaves or enters the apartment block, he door and gates slam and the noise was horrendous. We complained to reception and were allocated a new room number 1, Number 4 is a luxury room with a more expensive tariff than room number 1. We asked for a refund of the difference this was refused by the hotel. So if you are considering booking room 4 be aware

Located two minutes from the beach and lots of restaurants. Parking was a problem , although the hotel inferred there was parking it was actually in the street and was only free between eight pm and ten am. The breakfast was meagre.

Great communication from start, receptionist Maria very helpful, hotel room very clean, well situated, lovely hotel, would return if back in that area, convenient car parking across the road. No hesitation in recommending!
