Rukiya is a small scale Safari Camp in the Wild Rivers Nature Reserve close to Kruger NP. The staff is incredibly welcoming and helpfull, really trying to find an answer to all your questions and needs. I have a serious eating disorder what makes travelling complicated in full board schemes, but staff and kitchen did a tremendous job to provide adequate dishes for me. Because there was a small problem with the tent we were meant to stay, we got a free upgrade to the river house, a very comfortable and welcoming surprise. White Rivers itself isn't a big 5 reserve and therefore the sightings in this reserve can feel less rewarding. Morning game drives are done in the Balule Reserve, which is a beautiful Big 5 reserve. We saw rhino, elephant and buffalo, besides herds of antelope, zebra, hippo and so on, plus countless amazing birds.

Het was echt een heerlijke ervaring. We hadden een tent geboekt maar werden overgeplaatst naar het huisje. Qua uitzicht wat minder rivier en meer Bush (wel rustiger en dus beter voor wat wildlife). Het huisje was fantastisch, heerlijk ruim met een ruim dek. De safari’s zijn in de vroege ochtend en namiddag. Helemaal top want tusse 11:30 en 15:30 is het toch te warm. Het avondeten wordt aan een lange tafel geserveerd. Ik dacht eerst “daar zit ik niet op te wachten” maar doordat er leuke andere gasten verbleven was het geweldig! Je moet het treffen met elkaar. Absolute aanrader!

We had my daughters wedding at the lodge. We travelled from Australia for this event and the staff were absolutely AMAZING with organising the day and during our whole stay. Will definitely be back

Beautiful lodge, tranquil and full board for most guests so everything was included minus drinks. Enjoyed the experience staying in greater kruger vs paying 10x to stay in the national park but didn't see as many of the big 5 - this is nature though. My only comments hence the no 5 stars were the lack of food options at dinner - only 2 choices per night and the breakfast was very small - in the bush but not very filling as only a couple things. A few small tweaks on the service as well as certain things weren't relayed to us such as having to buy a whole bottle of wine if you just wanted a glass and then issues at checkout saying we hadn't paid despite paying upfront via ******* well over 6 months before arriving. A quick phone call to the owner fixed this but would be cool if they handled that internally first rather than in front of guests.

Na één overnachting in Johannesburg, begon onze rondreis in Zuid-Afrika pas echt met een verblijf in Rukiya. Achteraf bleek dit ook meteen het hoogtepunt van onze reis te zijn. Wij voelden ons helemaal speciaal hier. We verbleven in het River House en werden opgewacht door enorm vriendelijk personeel. Vanuit ons huisje konden we zo direct al allerlei dieren (impala's, giraffen, enz) voorbij zien lopen en zo'n 200 meter verder in het riviertje konden we een krokodil zien zonnen. Het eten was van het begin tot het einde goed en afwisselend. Er was echt over alles goed nagedacht. De safari's met Marcel waren wat ons betreft ook fantastisch. In een open jeep kwamen we dichtbij alle dieren en iedereen deed zijn best om het voor ons onvergetelijk te maken en er voor te zorgen dat we alles goed konden zien.

Un camp avec un guide riyan extraordinaire. Le service est bon et la nourriture correcte. La chambre est bien et propre Par contre à notre grand malheur ce gîte fut beaucoup trop bruyant. Ça n’est pas la faute du camp mais à 21.30 et toujours des visiteurs qui boivent et rient fort nous étions dans la tente une et nous entendions tout. Ensuite réveillés à 4h 30 quand les ranger allument les voitures et bien je n’appelle pas ça du repos. Pour moi c’est plus un camp spring break que un camp où l’on se repose et c’est très dommage car l’équipe est gentille et serviable. Mais il faudrait contrôler l’accès à des clients respectueux et qui aiment la nature. Nous sommes très déçus par ça, c’est très dommage. Je répète que l’équipe a fait son possible et ont été à l’écoute de notre fatigue et notre desarroi malheureusement les clients n’étaient pas respectueux
