Stayed here this week and encountered one of the nastiest and rudest desk persons in recent memory and any Marriott property, timeshare or any other destination location. The daily texts and emails were being sent to another person in our family and had asked for them to stop or get redirected. Instead of apologizing or attempt to correct this, she rudely hung up on me. When I called back, she didn't take the call but forced me to use the phone directory to connect. Her response when I asked why she hung up on me was, "There was nothing to say to you..."

We enjoyed our week-long stay at the Marriott Harbour Point. To start with, the staff here was fantastic! They were very helpful and friendly. We had one room issue, which they very quickly and professionally fixed and took care of. The villa/unit was large enough for our stay; the two bedrooms had decent separation for some privacy. The large living room and dining room allowed us to spread out, while the full kitchen was crucial for us to cook / store food / do laundry. We weren't expecting this, but while full housekeeping services weren't provided for a week long stay, they daily checked and provided clean towels, paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, dish detergent, and toiletries as needed. The lobby was modern and inviting as a social / gathering space, although it did fill up quickly with some activities. As far as the activities go, we weren't expecting them at all, so this was great...three or four daily activities, spanning everything from pancakes, to bloody marys, to wine tasting, to educational programs, to pool and outdoor activities. This was a great and unexpected treat. The grounds were well kept (which is why there are blowers....we didn't mind at all, the staff was keeping the grounds in fantastic shape, and wasn't as nearly as obtrusive as some reviews make it out to be, lol), and had several different areas....the larger main pool complex (complete with a grilling area) was relaxing to hang out in, as was the hot tub. On the other end of the complex, there was another pool, although it was open during our stay. This end also included another grilling area, a large gas-fed fire pit, and a great, large gazebo and sitting area overlooking the marsh and creek. There is a small fitness facility on site, as well as basketball courts, pickleball courts, and tennis courts....all useable for no charge by residents and visitors. There is a bike rental option as part of the complex; the price for a weeklong rental was very reasonable ($45), although the single-speed bikes took some getting used to. This place was in walking distance to the Shelter Cove marina, but more like biking or driving distance to the Shetler Cove Towne Centre. There is an in-season shuttle between the resort and any place in Palmetto Dunes. Did I mention the staff? To a "T", they were all fantastic...very friendly, extremely helpful, and extremely responsive.

Nice resort, decent amenities and great staff. As a previous reviewer mentioned, the gas blowers constantly going ruin the peaceful atmosphere. The resort smells of gas. And it’s honestly really terrible for human ears. Tried to enjoy a program in the lobby but someone with a gas blower was right outside in the vestibule. It’s maddening!!

I have stayed at this location twice. The first stay was great which is why I revisited. The second stay was less than ideal. Our carpet was soaked when we check in, maintenance removed the fan after checkin. We asked them to bring it back the next day after we left for dinner, they did but they didn’t plug it in/turn it on. We returned from dinner at midnight to a still wet floor. We had to keep all of our belongings on tables/chairs for the duration of the trip. We also had to wear shoes inside. *There was broken glass on the bed when we checked in. The site offered BonVoy points but I feel some kind of discount would have been appropriate. They refused. I understand things happen but I won’t be returning

Why would any company allow workers to blow a few leaves around for 4 hours on a Monday morning that are earshot of visitors sitting on their balconies overlooking a beautiful water view. If you are looking for a relaxing peaceful vacation, you need to avoid this place.

I am giving this Marriot property a 3 because the staff was fabulous- from reception to housekeeping. If it weren’t for them this would be a 1.5. I have stayed in many Marriott villas over the years (we are owners) and I haven’t ever experienced a room that had such an old smoke smell. I think they may have tried to “neutralize it” or cover it up with room freshener because on top of the old smoke smell was an “air freshener” smell. The odor was so prevalent it permeated our packed clothing. I had to wash all out clothing that we had packed when we returned home because the odor was so strong. The property is well kept but very old. I’m sure at one point smoking was permitted in the villas which is why it was so strong. I would have loved to rate it higher but I just couldn’t get past the old smoke smell.

Stayed here one night. Room was nice and clean. Pool and deck area was peaceful, marsh view was nice. Checkin was easy. We do not cook on vacation so can’t speak to kitchen set up. We stayed on the Sunset side.

We booked our stay late so knew we would be staying at an older resort. Plans are in the works for new windows and updated decor in the next 2 years. In the meantime, the resort could use some maintenance and upgrading of the quality of towels, fix the towel racks in the room, make sure everything in the room works (clocks, for example). When service is needed (soap in the shower, for example), it shouldn’t take over an hour and several calls. Concierge on the weekend only in a vacation resort area made it necessary for us to do our own planning. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our stay.

Where do we begin? We have been Marriott owners since 2012. Pros: It was close to the beach. They did offer a free shuttle service which took you to and from the beach and they would pick you up with your beach equipment. They also had bike rentals. The bikes are pretty basic and beat up, but did the job for a couple of days. A lot of people on property ended up renting bikes from other companies and having them delivered and dropped off because they had more accommodations such as attachments to the back of the bike for smaller children, bikes with car seat attachments, trailers for beach, equipment, etc. There is a full-size basketball court. Two Pickleball courts and two tennis courts. All of which was fun. The courts were open from 8 AM to 10 PM with the tennis courts closing from 12 to 2 so they could water it because it is so ungodly hot and humid down there. The pool was a really good time. We did not try the smaller pool as it did. It did not appeal to us. We stuck with the larger pool that was nearby the hot tub. The water was wonderful and refreshing and we enjoyed it thoroughly. They did say they were only open till 10 PM but never seemed to kick anybody out as people tended to stay longer than 10 PM. There is a small gym that has a decent amount of equipment and it overlooks the nice marsh. You are half a mile to a mile away from Shelter Cove community park, which is a very hidden gem. There are plenty of boardwalks at the park that walk along the marsh and you get to see alligators, anhinga, egrets, great blue herons, tons and tons of Sand fiddler crabs both at the park and on the hotel property. We even got to see a manatee. You are right near the marina as well, and can rent paddle boards, kayaks, etc. to use in the marsh which we chose not to partake in due to the alligators. Every Tuesday in July, they offered a free fireworks show on the marsh which happens directly behind the property by the big large pool and you can get a front-row seat from either the pool or your balcony, depending on the room that you are in We enjoyed playing in the basketball tournament that they had Andrew was awesome and we enjoyed having him play basketball with us and we wish him the best of luck with college playing basketball. The beach first time we went to the beach we used the shuttle that was free with the hotel stay it was OK. Our driver was amazing and she told us to go to Coligny Beach to get good souvenirs. We decided to go there and go to the beach and from there on out that’s a Beach we ended up going it is about a 12-minute drive from the hotel but you could also get there by walking to the Neptune statue in Shelter Cove shopping center and taking the free shuttle called the breeze. Coligny Beach had several showers and feet showers as well as swings to sit on, and a gazebo with reclining chairs to sit in and hang out once you came out of the beach it also had tons of shops and food choices. We rode our bikes to him from
