When I arrived at this hotel it initially seemed promising. I was greeted by a courteous male staff member who checked me in smoothly. However, the positive experience took a turn the next morning. The same male staff member delivered my breakfast and informed me that I needed to go to the office to pay for the meal I charged back from the Long Yard Hotel, as it wasn’t included in my stay. This was surprising, as I had been previously told that it was allowed. The situation escalated when I mentioned that I was staying for two nights and suggested they could either charge my card or that I would settle it later. He insisted that I had only booked one night, which I knew was incorrect. Despite my certainty, he claimed he was pretty sure I had booked for just one night. I decided to go down to the reception to resolve the issue, only to be met with various reasons why I shouldn’t have been allowed to charge my meal back to the hotel. Additionally, I hadn’t received a breakfast menu in my room, so the following morning, I went to the reception as soon as they opened to inquire about breakfast, which they couldn’t do. The same staff member was there and brought up the charge back issue once again. Frustrated, I mentioned that we were told it was allowed and that it was stated on their website. Eventually, they charged my account and the matter was resolved, but the whole experience was incredibly frustrating and unnecessary. Overall, the interactions were uncalled for and left me feeling unfairly treated despite doing nothing wrong. I will not be staying here again and will advise my staff to find alternative accommodations when they are in town.
