Courtyard High Point

This is a newest Courtyard property. The pros: clean rooms, Keurig coffee maker and refrigerator in room, nice big TV, good food. The cons: can you believe that checkout was 12 noon, but I was locked out of my room at 11:35 am?!; could hear the people talking in room next door (very strange as they were not talking loudly); and when I was in shower I discovered no body wash/soap in the dispenser on the wall....Thus, four stars!

I stayed at the Courtyard High Point for business. The stay was alright but there were too many little things that could be better. First - the hotel is situated on the round road of an abandoned/closed mall - a senior center is based in one part of the mall across the parking lot. Lobby area was decent although it had this food smell that made its way into the elevator. The room was an ok size with the bed facing the windows. Room was clean and overall comfy. They had a comfy couch along with the shamaise. Big size TV included along with alot channels. Bed was comfy but I wish they had firm pillows. The A/C unit was not controllable. The thermostat had Low-High-Auto. I prefer a steady stream of air to come in, but no matter what I chose, the unit worked on Auto which meant I'd wake up a little too hot or a little too cold at times overnight. Would be nice if they included a bottle of water in the room. I could never understand why hotels don't include 1-2 free bottles of water. They are like 25 cents each in bulk. Decent sized bathroom. Shampoo dispenser was empty in the shower. And when I checked into my room, the stopper in the tub was plugged in and someone didn't close the faucet all the way, leading to a dripping faucet and water collecting in the tub. And the hot water for a shower would get cooler after only a few minutes into a shower. I expect to visit the High Point area for business 1-2X a year, so I wish there was a nicer hotel to stay in, particularly from the Marriott/Bonvoy brand, but I guess this will do for now.

I love the lobby area which has a coffee/lunch bar and a huge sitting area with a fireplace and tv. The entire area looks very clean. The room was carpeted but also very clean. I mention the carpeting because I do not always like it. This maybe a newly built Courtyard because it was super nice and I highly recommend it. The entire staff was so nice and accommodating.

Not first visit but less comfortable. Pillows way too soft and air con noisy and almost uncontrollable. Room never got serviced one day and the next the maid barged in not giving us time to answer her knock then wanted a discussion as to whether we were checking out that day - erm, I think we are on top of that detail, thank you!

We stopped and stayed here on the way to Myrtle Beach. The hotel is modern and the rooms are spacious. I am in a power wheelchair so it was nice to have a large room and a large bathroom with a nice roll in shower. Toni was very helpful with our check-in and answering any questions that we had. They have plenty of areas to relax. They have a beautiful courtyard with plenty of seating along with seating on the inside of the hotel. The only downside of this hotel is that there is no breakfast. It is made to order and it is a little on the pricey side. However, we had a great experience and would definitely return.

A Courtyard is a Courtyard, all with the same formula. We have started to need accessible rooms in the last year. We booked the Courtyard after trying the J W Adams and a Greensboro hotel on two previous visits. The room was clean, as was the entire property. (The pool was closed for repair.) However, this accessible room only had a handrail behind the toilet, which was useless to us. When we discussed this with the front desk, we were offered a raised toilet seat with arms. Though this worked, is far from ideal. Apparently all the accessible rooms have this same design. High Point seems to be an expensive lodging market. Courtyard seems to be on the premium end of that market. Due to our circumstances, it seems a waste to pay a premium for a compromise.

Two night stay; Called front desk to report no Body Wash in dispenser; Left around 10:30–saw housekeeping down the hall; returned at 5–room not serviced. Called front desk; No service available—no apologies; manager refused to see me or return calls; finally manager emails and says my do not disturb sign was out: Total LIE! Inept housekeeping; Inept management! It all starts at the top; Find a better option!!!!
