Just back from a very special 2 night stay with my Wife and Black Labrador at the Green Dragon. Our room (No1) was comfortable and clean. The bar was an enjoyable 'typical Yorkshire' homely affair. We had 2 well cooked and tasty English breakfasts and in the evening 2 enjoyable pub food meals. The really nice staff helped make our stay very pleasant.

The area was amazing . The room was well appointed however I had a couple of issues.
I had little or no hot water / heating throughout my visit. There was an infestation of fleas in the kitchen window area. The fridge door shelf was broken meaning I couldn’t store orange juice in it.
However with all this aside , I really enjoyed my stay and the bar has some of the best Guinness I’ve ever had.

Newly refurbished accommodation was to a very high standard. The bar also serves as a dining room and is not ideal in that mode, but the bar and other pub rooms are so traditional that the ambiance is extradinary. One could quite believe that it hasn’t changed at all in last 200 years!

A beautiful 13th Century Inn with original flagstones and beams etc. A great selection of beers and the food is excellent. The appartement we stayed in is just behind the Inn and very quiet. We will be back.

Last visited this pub 4 years ago and had very good food. This visit was such a disappointment. Limited menu, cold food, disinterested staff. We were hoping for sandwiches but they were not on the menu. Neither were children’s meals so our two young members shared an adult portion. Two of our party of five were served a good 5 minutes before the rest but were given no cutlery so had to sit and watch their already lukewarm food get even colder. I went to find someone but was told they would bring cutlery with the rest of the order! ‘Homemade’ meat pie looked like supermarket brand and was filled with mushy meat. Homemade pate was slimy and inedible. We paid over £70 for the experience. I will not be returning!

Rude beyond belief, having booked a table for two ages before we finally arrived at the pub to find it busy as expected, we were early but were asked to take our drinks to a table while they cleared table 4 by the bar , it actually had a reserved sign on it with our names on for 3.30 pm , so at 3.45 I asked the people if they were vacating and they got more drinks and carried on , the staff were clueless even bringing wrong orders out to tables .We tried to order from the table we were told to sit and were totally ignored at the bar as staff seemed more intent on sitting outside smoking, worst place we’ve tried to eat in .
