I booked last minute for a cycle event in the area, the directions were easy to follow, if you screenshot them as advised, phone signal is poor to non existent (bliss) The Meadow View Hut is clean cozy and well appointed, the fire burns very warm so one of the provided logs at a time. If you can’t be bothered with the hassle of the fire, the heating is plenty on its own. Falstone is a great staging post for Kielder Forest, and there’s plenty of adventurous things to do near by, endless walks and off road cycle trails. Thanks Posh Huts!

Beautiful and clean , We loved the kitchen it had everything needed and the decor in there was very cosy looking xx Bed was so comfy .. We highly recommend having a shower this is the best shower we have experienced in all the shepherds huts we have visited . Very helpful owners who left exactly what we had asked ( milk , logs ) x. Warmed up in seconds with the log burner fire

We stayed in Meadow View for a couple of nights and could not have been happier. Good clear communication in advance. The hut itself was clean cosy and comfortable. Major pro was that it had no tv or Wi-Fi and we were able to switch off and just relax. We hope to return soon and would not hesitate to recommend to friends. We ate at the Pheasant Inn - lovely food, welcoming staff and good value.

I can only describe it as a little bit of heaven on earth. I booked Meadow View hut and it was perfect with everything you could need. The owners sent an email before arrival with lots of information to make the stay easy and we’re happy to help with anything else needed. I will definitely be returning in the future. If you’re looking for tranquility, peace, quirkiness and picturesque this beautiful hidden gem ticks all the boxes 😌

I needed some peace and quiet so booked Woodland View hut for a few days, which proved to be ideal. The setting is one of not complete solitude, given that there is Meadow view hut and four barn rooms/suites, but you are certainly sufficiently far enough away to feel no intrusion. I will list the pros and cons below for ease. Pros: Communication - Information provided proved to be easy to assimilate, with any queries answered quickly and politely by the hosts. Location - This part of Northumberland is starkly beautiful and remote, hence less tourists and crowding. Reaching there is dependent upon your location, but coming in on the A68 avoids several miles of smaller roads. The village of Falstone is small, but there is a tea room (with EV charging point) and the Blackcock Inn (open Wed to Sun). Petrol is available at nearby Kielder (unattended pay at pump) or Bellingham (9 miles and also home to a small Co-op, shops and pubs). The accommodation is easy to locate and spotlessly clean. Property - The Hut forms part of a small complex, sitting away from the converted barn accommodation. Access is via a key lockbox and there is a small fire pit, table and chairs in the garden area to the front. The hut is fitted with a stable door, perfect for half opening on sunny mornings. Once inside there is a double bed, which has two deep drawer storage compartments underneath and a small built in wardrobe/hanging area behind. For relaxing there is a small 2-seater and two chairs at the breakfast table. This area also has a small wood burner for those colder nights, although the hut proved to be well insulated. At the opposite end are the kitchen and bathroom, both well appointed. Cooking is via a small oven with two rings on top (I had boil in the bag meals with me which meant easy cooking). The bathroom itself has a large shower, with plenty of hot water on nearly immediate delivery. Activities - The hut has a few tourist maps to peruse and take with you on days out. Alnwick and Bamburgh/Lindisfarne are just over an hour away. Closer is Keilder Forest (walking and seasonal water sports activities), and when not being used, Otterburn Ranges (due to the use of live artillery rounds, access is only on tarmac roads, footpaths and bridleways - see “northumberlandnational park.org.uk” for details of when and how to access this area). Hadrians wall is also around a pleasant 1 hour trip to the south, featuring some nice small towns including Hexham and Corbridge. Going further afield, Berwick is worth a visit. Surprisingly, I found that just sitting watching the stars whilst having a glass of wine proved extremely restful, both mentally and physically. For those who like their history, “the King in the North” by Max Adams opens up a host of locations to visit if so inclined. Cons: Communication - There is no mobile phone signal (or internet at the hut) given the remoteness; therefore, ensure that if anyone needs to contact you in an emergency they have the

Stayed at the Woodlands Arms shepherds hut for 3 nights at the end of June. Hut was very clean, cosy, good size bed - fitting 2 quite tall people without being squashed - kitchen fully fitted with everything you may require to cook there if you wanted to. Shower shocked at the size of it, BIG, spacious no need to crouch or feel crammed whatsoever, showerhead powerful. Very silent with beautiful view of thr countryside, definitely recommend staying here if you plan visiting Kielder or not, we went to Carlisle and Edinburgh via train from Tweedbank. Recommend the Pheasant Inn at Stannersburn for food close drive but make sure to book table, also Fasltone tearooms for breakfast and you can also get provisions there. Can't praise it enough it Dave and Paula are excellent and very accommodating hosts and all locals too are most helpful.

Woodland View is in a very tranquil, secluded plot overlooking a stream and a field of sheep. The hut is cosy, to say the least - I had to climb over my wife to go the loo in the night, and the fridge was in such a cramped position that I had to kneel to get things in and out. No phone signal and in Woodland View (unlike other units on site) no WiFi signal either, so good if you want to get away from everyone! Excellent pub around the corner (Blackcock Inn). Would also recommend Osprey Cruise and Kielder Observatory, both superb experiences. Overall we really enjoyed our break here, but at our age (late 60s) we will probably go for something a bit more roomy in future.

Amazing. We stayed in the Woodland View Posh Hut and it was just perfect. Incredibly well equipped. It was lovely and warm and we completely switched off and relaxed for the weekend. The view was great for watching the wildlife. Thank you so much. We will definitely be back.
