Pennystella Apartments

Eigentlich hatte ich ein anderes Hotel gebucht, welches mir kurzfristig abgesagt wurde, sodass ich in das Pennystella umverlegt wurde. Dies erwies sich als außerordentlich gute Fügung des Schicksals. Ich wurde su unglaublich herzlich aufgenommen und es kam mir vor, als hätte ich meine Familie in Griechenland besucht. Weder an den Zimmern noch an der Anlage gibt es etwas auszusetzen. Alles ist sauber, ordentlich und mit viel Liebe gepflegt. So spiegelt sich das familiäre, liebevolle Miteinander auch in dem Umfeld wieder. Toll ist, dass die Zimmer über eine kleine Küchenzeile verfügen. Ich bin mit der Ausstattung zurecht gekommen, hatte mir aber ein Trockentuch und Gewürze mitgenommen. Ich denke aber, dass ich auf Nachfrage alles bekommen hätte, was ich zusätzlich zum kochen bräuchte. Das Essen in der hauseigenen Taverne ist ebenfalls ausgezeichnet und wird täglich frisch zubereitet. Auch auf Wünsche wird eingegangen und es ist einfach unglaublich nett dort zu sitzen und zu essen. Egal ob morgens oder abends. Das Schlimmste was man machen kann, ist in dem Ort an der Promenade zu essen. Fürchterliches Essen, welches mit griechisches Küche absolut nichts zu tun hat auch wenn es auf den ersten Blick so scheint. Ich bereue, dass ich dort einmal gewesen bin und nicht wieder im Pennystella war. Allgemein war es ein toller Aufenthalt. Vielen lieben Dank für die schöne Zeit ❤️

Upon our arrival in Greece we were very stressed but as the days went by we relaxed a lot and the credit went to this splendid place and its owners, who were always able to welcome us with a smile. The view from the terrace is beautiful, the lunches and dinners based on fresh fish are delicious. And then there was the swimming pool... Everything perfect!

Our first experience in Crete turned out to be extremely successful. We chose the hotel based on the reviews of those who had already been here. Nicholas and his family are an example of true Greek hospitality. We arrived late in the evening, they checked us in within 3 minutes and fed us an amazing dinner. One day we went to a family holiday. All the guests gathered in the cafe and had fun until late at night: they listened to folk music and danced Greek dances with the owners Nicholas and Stella. The hotel is small: only 16 rooms. If you need peace, quiet, cleanliness in the room and well-groomed area around the hotel, stunning views of the sea, a fairly large swimming pool, sun loungers around it and umbrellas, delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners prepared by Angela - this hotel is for you. The room is spacious, very clean, large bed. A small kitchen with everything you need, air conditioning (free) - it just saved us from the terrible heat, a balcony overlooking the mountains and the sea. Cleaning was carried out every day except Sunday; linen and towels were changed several times over 8 days. Two beaches are within a 10-12 minute walk from the hotel. True, to get to them, you need to overcome a rather steep descent, which replaced our morning exercises. You can also rent a car here. There are numerous taverns and restaurants along the beach. In general, the only downside is that we were only here for a week. Nicholas, Angela, Stella, we (Igor and Svetlana from Latvia) thank you for your hospitality and pleasant memories that will remain with us forever.

We stayed in this apartment complex for a week, based on the management made by our son's godmother, and she couldn't have chosen a better place. Magnificent views, a very familiar place where Stella's family will always assist you with the best of smiles. Very nice place, with a swimming pool, and where you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner with homemade Greek food, or simply refresh yourself with a beer, tea or frappe, enjoying the wonderful views of the bay of Agia Pelagia. Simple but very cozy apartment, with very comfortable beds. Magnificent place to establish a base for visits to the surroundings of Hyraclio, and even to visit Rethymno or Agios Nikolaos on the day, or to rest for a few days in a very quiet and familiar atmosphere. We are sure that we will repeat again.
