Heidelberg Hotels with Bars

Close Proximity to Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof (train station, just approximately 8 minutes walk). I am amazed at the complete furniture, even microwaves to cook our breakfast for the following day. More like an apartment than just a hotel. Nice stay

We walked to the hotel from the hautbahnhof, not far, about 800m A little far from the old town, maybe 20-30 minutes walk, but we got plenty of exercise. We could have taken a tram if we wished though from close to the hotel. Our Premium room was very good. Very spacious and comfortable. The bar staff were friendly and welcoming (especially Babu who we enjoyed talking to very much) Beer prices for the Heidelberger beer very competitive (unusual for a hotel bar) and a free drink for every day we didn't have housekeeping. The room was a bit warm for us but we would open the window to cool down for a while. Not sure how it would work in summer as the air-conditioning didn't do much. We would recommend this hotel and would stay here again if we return to Heidelberg.

It is indeed an aristocratic family's property with a 150-year operating history. This hotel is surrounded by several houses, so there is a courtyard with a fountain in the middle. The door is small, but it is beautiful inside. Because I booked a 30-square-meter double comfort room, which is 10 square meters larger than the ordinary room type, I paid special attention to it. At first, I was given room 326, which has a balcony, but the room area is very small. I went downstairs to negotiate in time. The front desk beauty service was very good. She took the other two room cards and asked me to choose one by myself. I chose 346, which is a corner room, much larger than the previous one. The toilet and bathroom are two separate rooms, which is very good. There is also a separate cloakroom. The room window faces the small garden, which is very beautiful. Because the hotel is composed of several houses, they also explained that each room and apartment are different. You can express your preferences when checking in next time. The breakfast is great. It is the best experience of my trip to Germany this time. Of course, the room price is also the most expensive. This is the first time I have seen a hotel with more waiters than guests. There are free drinks at breakfast. This is the only one I have encountered. Hotels run by aristocrats are different. They pay attention to every detail. As soon as you check in, they will put flowers, give you small desserts and welcome cards. All these details really make people feel happy from the bottom of their hearts!

Overall a very fine hotel. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Good location if you are planning on traveling by train or FlixBus since you are very close to their stations. The breakfast buffet is very extensive and well operated. We also ate once for dinner ate at the hotel restaurant and the hamburgers and fries are exceptional. (We had young adults in our group.) The Executive Lounge has a great view of the river if you have access. One warning. If you need an accessible bathroom, this is NOT the place for you. The showers are old school in a high wall bath tub. The other caution is the location is not adjacent to the Old Town. You may need to use buses, trams, or Uber/taxicab.

This is a very nice, business traveler type hotel. Room was very comfortable and clean. We had a couple of problems, though: 1) we reserved a room with twin beds, and we were given a room with the beds made up as one king bed—we couldn’t separate them and it was too late to get a different room; and 2) the lights in the hallway on our floor didn’t work until they were able to fix them the next morning (that was worrisome). There was some renovation going on which seems to explain the lighting issue. The hotel was about halfway between the train station and the old town, with a tram stop almost directly in front, so it was very convenient.

Fortunately, we're able to cancel our reservation, literally the last minute for free. The hotel staff was really unprofessional, unfriendly, and unhelpful upon our arrival. One of the ladies behind the check in counter barely spoke English. We had to wait 30min before our rooms would be ready, she did not offer us to put away our luggage (after I asked we were shown in the o the storage room, nobody helped us carry the bags..ans the room was left with the door open and without any surveillance from the staff). There was no clean glasses by the water container. As we sat on the hotel restaurants terrace to wait, nobody came to ask whether we wanted anything to dirnk. We then went to check out the roof top terrace. It was dirty, full of dried leaves... No access to wc. After these few disappointing experiences within 30min upon our arrival, we decided to give friendly feedback to the staff and see our options for cancelation, especially if we're not offered a proper excuse and/or upgrade. We were told that they're very busy and that that's the reason they can't deliver good service (note: their main job in this industry is to serve their guests, us, thus). WE WERE THE ONLY PEOPLE, BOTH AT THE CHECK IN COUNTER, AS WELL AS RESTAURANT AND ROOFTOP. Very happy with our decision to cancel this reservation and to have found a much better place to stay in the town center (Qube Bahnstadt was really far from the old town).

We had a delightful stay at the Heidelberger Hof. The Hotel is around the corner from the Main Street, Hauptßtrase in the old town so ideally placed to visit the historic city. It is a 20 min walk from the Hauptbahnhof. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The rooms are warm, clean and comfortable. We had a comfortable double bed and good shower. It was not noisy either. There is a buffet, European breakfast on offer it is well presented and caters for guests with food allergies. Our group consisted of a vegetarian, gluten & nut allergies and we all found the breakfast sufficient. Check out was simple and we were able to store our cases. We enjoyed our break at this hotel and in Heidelberg and would recommend both for a weekend break

Stayed here with family in May 2024. Very nice hotel, tastefully decorated. We stayed in the annexe, just 50m from the hotel in a very large room. Staff were extremely helpful and polite. Hotel is a 20 min walk to the old town but as hotel is close to the river we took our stroll that way. Highly recommended, we would stay there again.

Excellent location in a residential area, ideal for us visiting our granddaughter who is studying in Heidelberg. The Staff, service, friendliness and cleanliness was very good, as was the airconditioned room. Buffet breakfast, not included in room rate, had a good choice of food and a relatively modest price restaurant menu as well. Public transport, Tram, is just a few minutes walk from the hotel. However, the journey to the centre takes 10/15 minutes so not ideal for business travellers without a car. I can't comment on English being spoken as was mentioned in some reviews, as we didn't need to use it. Hotel only has payable private parking 🅿 but street parking outside the hotel is fine , our car was parked in the same place for 4 days, no problem. No hesitation in staying here again on our next visit to Heidelberg. There are NO Covid or sanitary restrictions at the hotel at this time.
