Grosvenor Guest House

I had the worst experience with this hotel. We arrived last Monday, no one answered the door, answer phone calls or emails. We were stuck outside the hotel trying to get in. I was with my little girl who was very tired after our journey and was in tears. Eventually after an hour, the hotel owner answered the door. She was in a terrible state, smelling strongly of alcohol. We could see inside and the place was in a terrible state with vodka bottles lying around. The hotel owner was very rude to us, said she did not have a room available. I tried to show her my proof of booking and payment but she refused to look at it saying she did not have her glasses. She refused to get her glasses or make any effort to look at my details. She then said she would give me a refund and slammed the door in our face. I have NOT received a refund and we were forced to find alternative accommodation. A terrible start to our holiday and I am left financially down. The neighbours said she has done this to many guests. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!! The hotel owner should be taken off all platforms and loose her licence.

Arrived and no one answered the door. The owner was in the basement squatting flies on the window but wouldn’t open door. Neighbour said she is an alcoholic and just sits up all night making noise and drinking. Booked through *******. Phone number doesn’t work neither.

There was no one at the property to let us in, no instructions for key access, and the contact number didn't work so we had to find somewhere else to stay. Do not book this unless you want to sleep on the street.

AWFUL PLACE!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. PLACE IS DISGUSTING, BED HAD FEACES STAINS OVER IT. SPENT 5 MINUTES IN THERE AND DROVE HOME. WOMAN WHO WORKS THERE SEEMED DRUNK AND LIKE SHE DIDNT GIVE AN F! BOOKED THROUGH AGODA WHO ARE ALSO USELESS. DONT STAY HERE!!

Do not stay at this place please it’s shocking when to stay in this place on may 25 to 27 got there the woman answered the door and said can we go back in half an hour? Got there in half an hour? Other people are knocking on the window she was in bed drunk then she got up open DOORS upstairs room there’s people in she said I’ve got the wrong keys and went back downstairs and never come back out again she when to bed some people had paid we were lucky we didn’t but we had to go To Eastbourne to get an hotel and we We’re going to a festival on Easter so it cost us £85 there and back in cab so please do not stay there

I booked 2 nights through ******* in this sort of guest house more similar to a community center. I arrived at 1.30pm and no one opened the front door. I tried to call but the phone was out of order. I wrote 3 emails telling the owner that I was out there but no response. It was 2.30pm and I was out there waiting but nothing. I saw a neighbor who advised me to knock on the basement door where the owner of the guest house lives. Nothing. Hours passed, it was 3pm and finally the lady (drunk and otherwise...) opened the door of her house telling me to look for another place to stay. I explained to her that I have already paid to *******. She then told me to come back in 1 hour. At 4pm I came back and she tried to give me a very dirty room with the bed still to be made. The window was broken, I changed room. Even worse. It was 4.30pm and I'm tired, so I helped her make the bed. I cleaned the bathroom because she was not in a position to do it. The room key could not be found (it was open when I arrived). I changed room again. There was no hot water. At 5.30pm. I decided to leave. The lady was happy. I called ******* who was unable to do anything, they promised me a ticket in 72 hours. ******* never again. Incompetent. I found another accommodation. Be careful!!!! Unfortunately I discovered late that many have had the same problem. She's dishonest. She continues to leave his Guest House on Booking and ******* but it is no longer a place to frequent. A mess everywhere. Blood stained sheets, dirt from catching diseases, disgusting! I cannot describe the room and the bathroom. I've never ever seen something like this. Now I'm waiting for a fully refund from ******* who however was not able to sort it out. People don't go to this guest house. It's a scam!
