Coratel Inn & Suites by Jasper Hastings

The hotel is shabby and run down with old furniture and fixtures. The rooms are small and barely furnished. The carpets in the hall and rooms are grungy and the whole motel has a stale funky odor. The entrance from the road is tricky and the front of the property is occupied by haphazardly arranged RVs. Go elsewhere .

We booked here to attend a wedding for friends in the area. Besides us, to other parties that we know checked into this hotel as well. We all had aweful experiences. 1. On arrival, we were advise by one frtiend that saw in the parking lot to check our AC, because his didn't work and he had to have them get him another room. 2. When we opened the door we were hit with the mustiest smell you could imaginne. Our AC worked, but we had to open the window and leavit open sll night to clear the room of the smell. The second day as we prepared to head into Minneapolis to explore, she was in the middle of the shower, when they cut the water off. When I called the front desk, the gentlemen was apologetic and explained that there "was a bad leak and it needed to be fixed." I did mentioned that some warning would have been nice. My girl had to wait 30 mins for wter to come back on before she could rinse off. 3. Our 2nd couple of friends came in the following day. We warned them of all of our experiences, and they were like...."oh neat, should be fun". They didn't have to wait long, as they found that in THEIR room the AC and water were fine, but the tub would not drain. Just....pay the extra to stay in one of the other hotels in Hastings. If you can't find one, St Paul is only about 115 to 20 mins away. Avoid this place, I really do not foresee any changes to user experiences at the Coratel in Hastings. Parting comment. The couple that had gotten married heard about our experience and demanded that we check out and stay in one of their guest rooms for our final night in town. I literally didn't care about losing my money to get out of that hotel a day earlier.

This hotel is terrible!!! First the whole hotel has a peculiar odor. Our room was very outdated but I could have lived with that. The bed was terrible and broken. There was a massive sag to the middle. My husband said they must not have center supports in or they were broken. Then the whole bed was slanted where your feet were much higher then your head. The pillows were like flat rocks. There was one bonus you had nice hot water and there was no shortage of that. But when you dry off you get a small piece of sand paper!!! I swear I took a layer of skin off when drying off.

This was absolutely the worst hotel or motel we've stayed at for the past 30 years. Everything was cheap, cheap cheap. There are no coffee makers in the room for starters and only one in the lobby with the weakest tasting coffee. The bath towels were almost as thin as a paper towel and you could barely wrap one around your body. The blankets were ridiculously old, worn and thin. The through the wall air conditioner sounded like a B-52 engine on take off. The photo shown on Trip Advisor is NOT like any of the rooms at this hotel. Stay elsewheres!

The person at the front desk was very rude, insulted me and my children, because my son is a mixed race. Asked if my son was really my son. Asked me if I really booked the room because I used the name I go by, as shown on my driver's license. Told me he didn't feel that was my real name. Had questions about a policy they had and because two of us were asking questions, the guy started shouting at us, telling my children to get out and as my son was saying I'll wait in the car, he told me he would not let us check in.

Did not open the bed until we returned from our wedding later. the bed sheets were not clean looking. Looked like someone had slept in them. the door to the room did not close properly. Had to play with the locks. Could not complain to management as no one was in the office. Two our (6) rooms left after we returned as we did not feel safe sleeping in the bed or the surroundings. Would not stay here ever again or recommend to anyone.
