Great location , located at the edge of West Lake scenic zone . Close to public transport ( MTR and buses) Front desk team is excellent, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable ( able to provide transport and tourist attraction information ) especially Chiu Hua Room is spaces and clean with good sound proofing. Housekeeping team is always attentive to details. The restaurant setting with an outdoor section is comfortable and the breakfast variety is great, give a lot of options for different preferences.( Western / Chinese ) , waitress are friendly and helpful . Overall we enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend to our friend and relatives , great value for money for a 5 star hotel .

The room is very spacious, and with free mini bar too. The hotel staff is very friendly. When you order for food delivery, the cute hotel robot will send it to your room. The location is not too bad. Need to walk a bit to reach the nearest subway station. The breakfast standard , has fruits , chinese cuisines and western ham and eggs.

Location – Perfect for Exploring Hangzhou The location of the hotel is undoubtedly one of its biggest advantages. Situated just a few minutes' walk from the famous West Lake, it is incredibly convenient for those wanting to explore one of China’s most scenic attractions. The proximity to West Lake makes it easy to take early morning or evening walks along the picturesque waterfront, which I found very calming. Additionally, the hotel is close to several popular shopping streets, including Hubin Road, where you can find both luxury brands and local shops. There are also plenty of restaurants and cafés nearby, giving guests many dining options beyond the hotel itself. 2. Warm and Efficient Check-in Process From the moment I entered the hotel, I was greeted warmly by the staff. The lobby is spacious, elegant, and well-lit, giving off a luxurious yet comfortable vibe. Check-in was smooth and quick, with the front desk staff offering a welcome drink upon arrival. I appreciated their professionalism—they spoke fluent English and were well-prepared to answer all my questions about nearby attractions and transportation options. One thing that stood out was their attentiveness; they noticed I had traveled a long way and offered to expedite my check-in, which was a thoughtful touch. 3. Spacious and Well-Appointed Rooms The room I stayed in was a deluxe double with a partial view of West Lake. Dining – A Great Variety of Options The dining experience at the Wyndham Grand Plaza Royale Hangzhou was truly impressive. The hotel’s main restaurant offers a large breakfast buffet that caters to both Western and Chinese tastes. I enjoyed starting my day with a wide selection of fresh fruits, pastries, eggs, and Chinese dim sum. They also had made-to-order noodle and omelet stations, which was a great touch. The food quality was excellent, and the service during breakfast was attentive, with staff regularly refilling coffee and tea without being asked. In addition to the breakfast buffet, the hotel offers several dining options throughout the day. I dined at their Chinese restaurant one evening, which specializes in Hangzhou cuisine. The dishes were authentic and flavorful—definitely a highlight of my trip. I recommend trying the local specialty, Dongpo Pork, which was cooked to perfection. Room service was also available 24/7, and I tried it once when I returned late from sightseeing. The food was delivered promptly, and the quality was on par with the restaurant meals.

We love the hotel. The staff were very helpful when we asked for a little extension. They helped us with the baggage storage before we went to the airport. The lake and city view from our hotel room was stunning! There was even 2 a chairs for us to sit and admire the beautiful view. Breakfast was good too!

A marvelous experience and I was extremely impressed by the high-quality services this hotel could provide! Location must be 100 full credits, so close to the West Lake Plaza! Very satisfied with the top roof garden views.

Excellent stay; near Xihu attractions and easy to get around sights. Clean, room temperature pleasant, though shower hot water was intermittent. Toilet door was spoilt but they had it fixed very fast though still can’t close 100%. Concierge Robin helped us booked tickets smoothly to the Impressions of Xihu show. Housekeeping was clean and tidy; can’t remb the lady’s name, Ms Peng? (Room 212 on 15-16/11)- thanks to all who made our stay pleasant.

This is a perfect location for travelers especially for people who are the first time visiting Hangzhou , it is just 6-8 mins walking distance to West Lake, Kerry Center is just next door, very convivence for shopping, have a coffee, dinner etc. It's my second stay, i believe this Shangri-la is the best in terms of hotel facilities, location among the nearby luxury hotel such as Grand H. It was a very pleasant stay. PS: A big compliment to their Reservation team, they are patient, pay attention in details, excellent!

Great location! West lake is right in front of the hotel. Subway station is around the corner. Plenty of restaurants around. Mall is right beside. Room is clean. But it smelled of cigarette even if it’s a non smoking room. Wide spread of buffet breakfast. Hotel lobby is grand with free tea.

Indeed this hotel is from 1935 and in this era the hotel was smashing. However, today we are in 2024 and although it is still looking fantastic the building is old and very humid, at least at the first floor where we were. We had to change the first room because it was smelling bad and everything was humid. There was equipment placed to get the moisture out of the room but this was really not enough. The second room was already better but still the humidity was far too high above 65!! My wife really had breathing issues with the high humidity and we were really happy that we booked only two nights. The people and the breakfast in the hotel was great but that couldn’t compensate the bad environment where you had to sleep. If you have breathing or lung issues I would recommend not to book this hotel because it will make you really sick, again at least the first floor. How the environment is on the other floors I cannot judge because I have not experienced it. A hotel of this level should be able to really do something about it and not putting a piece of (loud) equipment in the room to get humidity right.
