New Hotel in an old factory building, very nice and clean. Outside the city, need a car for the Hamburg experience. Very good breakfast, expensive but booked included in the room, ok and worth it. Nice parking garage, again expensive for a Hotel outside the city. 15 EUR per night. For me personally it is important to have fresh air, open the window. You can, very good. Next is a bottle of water in the room, there is a bottle of water but 4 EUR is highly overpriced. Means, you need a car, garage or parking outside, take your own water, a very nice and easy Hotel Sorry I did not use fitness and wellness.

The lack of air conditioning in this hotel is really no big deal compared to others. Their baby cot is not clean, my child slept in their bed for two nights, he likes to sleep on his side and on his stomach, and his face is allergic to any part of the bed that touches the sheets. When I spoke to the hotel, they admitted that it was the hotel's responsibility and said that they could pay for an ointment so that I could go to the pharmacy and buy it myself. Amazingly, almost all the staff at the hotel had a very poor attitude, didn't care about the child, privately divulged personal information about the residents as a topic of discussion at work (every staff member knew about our personal matters/information, even those I had never seen) and even asked me if you wanted to call an ambulance for such a small matter. I cancelled my whole day plam and took a taxi to the pharmacy, which cost over 60 euros, and in the end the hotel only gave me 5 euro for the ointment, saying that I took a taxi to a pharmacy that was too far away and they couldn't cover the taxi costs, and the manager said that the only place they could pay for was a taxi to 10 euros, so they refused to pay for the journey??? But they didn't say any of that before I left, I was just told to take my own taxi to the pharmacy and they knew we were leaving that day so they made a very perfunctory promise which was all overturned. The important thing is that I paid 100€ for this baby cot and it was still not clean, finally I spoke to the manager and I said I paid 100€ only to get the cot and he said you have checked out and everything is sorted I don't know what is in your room now? !!!Anyway don't bring your children to this dangerous hotel, the staff were very dishonest and went as far as to say the room had been cleaned to destroy the evidence.

OK - it's still the furniture I knew from the time when it was the Forum Hotel. And that's very long ago. But in autumn the renovation is supposed to go. The reception was very friendly. It's been really fun. I have a beautiful room with beautiful views of the city. Unfortunately, very much is built so that you may not be able to look at the elbe at all next time. Unfortunately. This time there was even a process that was close. Until the water pressure (15th floor) the shower was all right. But this is natural and there was no standard. I was surprised at breakfast. Besides the friendly staff, which quickly cleaned, the offer was very versatile. I asked: the fricadels tasted as they did (burned apple pieces) and not for convenience. But you didn't want to make yourself with foreign pearls and thought it was convenience. But it was all very good. I will put the hotel more in my focus once I'm back in Hamburg.

All in all the hotel is quite good, unfortunately some shortcomings put it to average for us. Upon check in, was asked at the reception whether we were Covid vaccinated 2 or 3 times. The certificate itself was barely looked at and no QR code scan was done. During our 3 nights stay, this was correctly done when entering Restaurant for breakfast, so why not at first contact point Reception? Upon entering our room (336), immediately noticed that it was rather cold inside. Normal if a window is open and aircon set at lowest level… Noticed as well that some empty shopping paper bags and some used brochures had most probably been forgotten during cleaning. In fact the bags were rather big and could not be overseen… Worse however were 2 used plastic cups in the bathroom, once again impossible to oversee them! The room itself was quite ok if you do not consider some stains on carpet and chair, however the very small wardrobe is kind of bad joke. ONE small storage compartment for a double room and no other storage possibilities in the room is far from standard! Breakfast on Sunday morning was rather chaotic with a completely full restaurant. Why not attribute time slots in order to avoid such a situation? This is done in some hotels and is rather helpful. On the day of our departure, somebody knocked at our room door at 08.45 am. Quite astonished that it was the cleaning lady who asked at what time we would leave... Had never experienced such acting in any other hotel also considering the check-out time of 11.00 am

Moin. It means Hi, Hello, Good morning, Good night and everything in between as long as it is used to greet people. Thats what Hamburg always had done, traditionally a city of merchants, globetrotters and adventurers, dockworkers and traders, Hamburg has always been a gateway to the world. Nowadays its home to creative people from the world of media, music and fashion, a city of arts and those who make an art out of living. An ideal setting for Moxy nested in the heart of Hamburg in between Alster and Elbe the two iconic rivers that spread its maritime flair all over the area. When you think of Hamburg you automatically think of the harbor, rough industrial styles and on the other hand canals and romance like it was little Venice. Thats what the interior of Moxy is all about: contrasts. All the different cult districts find their way into Moxy Hamburg Mitte. From red light to beach club and from pop culture to enchanting villas #atthemoxy catches all of it.

It's all well and good except that there's a lack of humidity in the room and the air conditioning/ventilation somehow doesn't work. Unfortunately I couldn't fall asleep properly due to the dry air and this led to a cold.
Otherwise clean room, the staff are friendly and helpful.

I was a little apprehensive after having read some of the reviews on here, but I have mostly good things to say. The hotel may be a little dated, but the rooms are nice and clean. The shower was quite tight, so be aware if you are bigger than average, and I wish there’d been a safe. My biggest point of criticism was the lack of air conditioning in the room, which was very hot. The hotel did provide fans however and the windows can be opened. The area around the hotel is a little dull, but the nearby station will take you to any part of Hamburg within minutes so it didn’t matter too much. Booked with breakfast, which was good with plenty of options.
Our renovated hotel is located in the heart of the Hanseatic city. It is within walking distance to the city center, 800 m from the Harry Potter Theater and 1.5 km from the main train station. A bus and metro station are nearby. The airport is 12 km away. You can reach us by car via the A1 and A7. Paid parking is available at the hotel.

Unfortunately, we had an unfriendly reception that was stressed and thus sprayed bad laughter. Questions were rather disgusted and briefly answered. There was a very bad price. Otherwise, the employees were premature!

Don't book this hotel if you are traveling for business purposes. When I booked the hotel, it said that the breakfast was inclusive and there was a price per night. However, in the receipt, the breakfast was listed separately, and the room price differed from day to day. The hotel refused to revise the receipt and even blocked my email address while I have only politely raised this request!

Outstanding
GGuest UserWe stayed at the Hyperion Hamburg for one night during our roadtrip through Europe. Arriving by car is very convenient, since the hotel is located close to a major road and offers garage parking with direct access to the hotel. Also, the location is great for sightseeing, as most of the city center is reachable by foot. We got a nice big corner room on one of the upper floors, with great views, comfortable beds, and lots of space for the 3 of us (2 adults and one child). The breakfast was very good, with many different options.
GGuest UserThe room comes with 1 queen size sofa bed and a toilet once you open the room door. Then there is a sliding door. Once you open the sliding door you will see a king size bed and a shower room with bath tub and toilet.
There are 2 TVs, 4 pairs of room slippers.
Room size is comfortable for 4 adults.
At lobby the hotel provide welcome drinks and cookies. Also packet juice and morning coffee.
The hotel is opposite the terminal 1 main entrance. Has to walk cross the road and it was snowing when we were there, very cold.
GGuest UserBarcelo Hamburg has a perfect location to explore the city. Nice spacious and modern room with city view. Friendly English speaking staff. Enjoyed the extensive breakfast. We made beautiful walks to Altstadt, Neustadt & St. Georg, Hafencity & Speicherstadt.
GGuest UserGreat location. Easy to get around and get back to the place at night. If you're a light sleeper I wouldn't recommend the shared rooms, people coming back late at night, the doors close quite loudly. My only complaint is that I received a keycard to the wrong room and walked right into a private suite.. Nobody was there thankfully and I just walked right out, but if I were staying in a private room I would hate to think that strangers could just walk into my room where all my belongings are lying around. Otherwise clean and quite a cool environment.
GGuest UserI stayed there two nights during the weekend of Hamburg's marathon and the stey was very fine. Clean room, very calm hotel (or good insonorisation) good looking decoration. Friendly staff. The location is ideal: close to many shops, easy to reach from the city center/main station and very calm street. I did not have breakfast on site, but it looked very nice for the price (eggs, different breads, pastries, fruits, yoghurt,... it had everything). The only negative thing would be that the room I had was a bit tiny -but perfect for one person. And it had no table, which made working in my room complicated. I would definitely recommend it.
Positive: From the price performance perspective it is a nice hotel to stay overnight or at most two nights. Clean rooms and bedding. Small rooms, but comfortable. A very nice local bar/pub beside the hotel where you can eat, drink and watch sport games Negative: Not enough electric sockets. None beside or close to the beds. Hardtime if you have sleeping aid machine. I had to ask an extension cable and multi socket and they provided. Car parking in 5 min walking distance not a big deal, but dropping off or loading your luggages at the front door of the hotel is problematic. Either you block the bike road or sidewalk or have to stay in a paid park area. Each time you get punished by local people :) The worst thing we experienced was the outage of the internet and they could not fix it in 48 hours.
Although the room was exceptionally large and we had a river facing view, which was nice, that’s about all I can say to encourage you to stay here. At first I thought we’d been given a room for a disabled person as the bed was so low to the ground, but the bathroom was not suited to disabilities so it was just an exceptionally low bed, given that the average German man I’ve seen seem to be well over 6ft tall, even I am 5’7”, I found it uncomfortable to get in and out of. The wifi in our room was pretty much non existent. You know how a wifi icon is rainbow shaped, our intermittent connectivity was the little dot at the bottom of the rainbow, if I stood right at the entrance door. You have to ask to have your room cleaned and if you forgot, too bad. Our room wasn’t attended to the 3 nights we were there but I managed to get our bins emptied, once. There was a space for a fridge, but no fridge, no phone either to call reception to request room clean. The bathroom, while nice, had the toilet paper holder right in the splash zone from the shower, so everyday we had wet toilet paper. We didn’t eat at the hotel, breakfast was €25 each so we went to the street that is a 2 min walk away and has breakfast for €8. The staff were all very pleasant. All in all, there is nothing wrong with this hotel and Hamburg generally is not cheap, (we were hit with an unexpected city tax upon checkout, which we have not paid in any other German city), but I think for the price, things could have been better.
LLucyFelthouseFirst of all, the location of this hotel - opposite the main train station - was really good and super convenient. There are lots of eateries and shops nearby (many of which are in the train station concourse). The staff were friendly, though we did have issues on checking in with a member of staff who I believe was new and didn't seem to know the procedure for renting us the safe. But after he made a call to someone, we got it sorted in the end. Breakfast was a typical continental - fine, but nothing special. The hotel itself is very old-fashioned, all classical fixtures, etc, which is lovely. However this also extended to our room's door, which didn't seem to fit particularly well in its door frame and as such let in light and noise, and didn't feel terribly secure. The room itself was fine, not terribly big but enough for what we needed, and clean. The only downside was the cleaner continually letting herself in despite us having the 'do not disturb' sign on the door, and early enough in the day we were still getting ready to go out for the day! Overall, a fine place to stay. If you're just looking for somewhere clean and comfortable to sleep and shower while you're exploring the city, this will do just fine.
EElkjaer123We booked this hotel via Amoma. Com as it stated that this hotel had large family rooms, pets were welcome and that the rooms had air-conditioning. All not true. We were asked to pay an additional 30 euros for our third child. We had also booked a quiet room but faced the very noisy street. The room was extraordinaryly hot and staff did not provide us with a fan. The room was small but reasonably clean. No tea or coffee making facilities. The bathroom was ok but hairdryer did not work. Interiors quite tired. The biggest problem with this hotel is the location. It is the local druggie hang out. We saw people using drugs in the street right outside the hotel and it was clear that this is not a safe area. The riot police attended several incidents during our stay and made several arrests. **********s operate in this area too. We would not recommend to stay here and it certainly was not even good value for money.
GGuest UserElevator still doesn’t work if anyone is wondering. We liked the place itself. Apartment was pretty basic but clean. Nothing much about the place itself to say or complain about. The location is another story. It’s close to the Hauptbahnhof (central station) where a lot of unfortunate down and out people hang around. As we were walking to the hotel at around nine pm someone with drug and/or psychiatric problems approached us and followed us to the door, talking in German the whole time. In the doorway two guys were sitting and offered us drugs but they were very polite and chill about it. All in all, an alright place, but maybe great for families (which isn’t the hotel’s fault).
