Stopped for 1 night on the long drive from FL to MO. This hotel is like seeing nice pictures of a house for sale, but when you arrive for the Open House, it’s kind of a dump. It was after 10pm when we arrived, so we just stayed. First, I’ll say the staff were really sweet and friendly. It’s clear they’re just winging it running this place though. One gal was running the entire place at night so we had to call the front desk number to alert her we were there. The lobby was a ghost town, aside from the giant spider our kids pointed out on the lobby floor right by the front desk. The elevators were nice but floors were dirty. The bathrooms were pretty nice and the shower was nice & hot. The beds were comfortable and furniture was nice. The room was ok, but no deep cleaning had ever been done. Baseboards looked to have never been cleaned, ever. It appeared housekeeping skipped sweeping & mopping the bathroom floor. There was a mystery booger or something by our door handle. Housekeeping couldn’t have missed seeing this, they just ignored it. We got 2 rooms and both had the ancient AC units under the window that just blow and blow cold air on you all night. We bumped them up to 75 and they still both blew LOUD, and cold all night. Front desk said to unplug them and plug them back in LOL. We couldn’t locate the plugs, so we just dealt. The walls were red, carpet was red, and pictures red. Our teens nicknamed it the buggy blood hotel LOL! The hallways were all scratched up and down, like housekeeping just rubs the cleaning cart up & down the walls. Breakfast was disgusting. Mystery egg substance, cold 2 day old potatoes, and hockey puck mystery sausage. No pastries, no cereal, no fruit. Wouldn’t pay a dime for it. Got in the car and kids ate chips from our snack bag for breakfast. Looks nice from afar, but gross. Do yourself a favor and stay in Jasper instead.
