We kept to ourselves because we didn't realize there was a shared common room upstairs, however we realized as well that it wasn't open all the time since I think the owners prefer to be home, which makes sense! The place was clean and comfortable, with a nice view of the school, which some may not like, but it was great to see the town "alive" and bustling, even when it was raining!
The host was SUPER sweet but spoke very little English, so we mostly conversed with his daughter who was great and very helpful. We loved that this was not near the town center/square because it was quiet and we also didn't feel pressured by the nearby cafes. Felt local but was also very close to everything you could want as it's a small town.
My only feedback is that there should be a bath mat or towel to use as one since the floor gets wet (post shower) with no door or curtain. Just beware when stepping out of the bathroom! :)
