Hotel Meridional

The room initially disappointed me as it needed some painting attention around air con unit and bathroom ceiling. The cups were stained …When we checked in the floor was dirty and when I went to report this nobody came until the next day. I expected more for a 4 star hotel. The location is fantastic, there is a restaurant and bar at the hotel but we didn’t use them. There was a small pool which was clean and convenient. The balcony with the sea view was charming.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a wonderfully friendly member of staff and granted an early check-in—on the condition we enjoyed lunch at the hotel. It was an excellent upsell, as the gastro-style food was fancy and absolutely delicious. We spent eight nights perfectly situated on the beachfront, falling asleep to the sound of the waves. While the rooms are on the smaller side, they are tastefully decorated and in keeping with the hotel’s nature-friendly, coastal aesthetic. The staff truly make this place special. While the breakfast manager takes a moment to warm up, she’s a total gem once she smiles! We also loved the long-haired blonde lady at breakfast who was always so welcoming, and the girl with glasses behind the bar in the evening who was incredibly friendly and smiley. We did have a slight issue with the electrics (a clicking fuse box and the AC switching to heat mode in the night), but the lovely receptionists who checked us in sorted it swiftly. They moved us to a larger room with a beautiful bath in the bedroom. Just a tip: the bathroom window overlooks the adjacent apartments, so unless you want to wave to the neighbors while showering, make sure to steam the window with hot water first! The included breakfast was fantastic: fresh breads, cheeses, smoked salmon, and "eggs-ellent" scrambled eggs. The coffee was great and the self-service was always well-stocked. The hot food could have been a touch hotter, but it wasn't worth a complaint. The real gem is the Sky Bar—the only rooftop in Guardamar. It offers perfect coastline views and is great for sunbathing, though keep in mind it is open to the public. Local Recommendations: Plenty of great food nearby! Hoops Bar is perfect for a Guinness, and both Rodero and El Barco serve delicious Mediterranean cuisine.

We had a wonderful stay at the Meridional Hotel. We arrived from a late flight and were delighted to have two bottles of water in the room. The staff were all lovely and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely revisit.

Would never return to this hotel. Expensive for what you receive. Rooms are grubby & plain, Management are so unbelievably rude and unhelpful if you have any issues they aren’t interested. Only good thing bar staff are friendly

The room ( and view of the sea) was perfect. The food in the restaurants was amazing. The staff were attentive and knowledgable.

Stay was amazing. Was there during off season so dinning was limited for choice. Staff was great.

Great Hotel, Sky bar, Spa, Restaurant and pool. We were a little disappointed with our hotel room. No bidet in an otherwise good bathroom (a must in hot climate). Our room was on the first floor corner with restricted sea view that left us slightly disappointed. Would we recommend this Hotel- Yes, just request a higher floor!
