Gionee Light Guangzhou Beijing Road Pedestrian Street

I'm giving this place a good review, and just to be clear, the establishment didn't ask me to! First off, the cleanliness is excellent. The entire room, including the bathroom, was spotless! Secondly, the soundproofing is great. It's right above Beijing Road Pedestrian Street, but at night, once the windows are closed, you barely hear any noise. The soundproofing between rooms is also impressive; I stayed for four days and was hardly disturbed. Thirdly, the location is fantastic. Most of the good restaurants are within walking distance, or just a short taxi ride away. Also, this hotel shares a laundry room and gym with the Mercure hotel upstairs, and the laundry room is more than sufficient! There are nine washing machines in total, and during my four-day stay, I never had to wait for one! My negative comment is directed at Guangzhou itself – the taxis and Didi rides here both smell bad, the only difference is between 'really bad' and 'just bad'! The pictures are from my visits to Da Ge Fan (Big Pigeon Restaurant), we went twice and were very satisfied!

Great location, right next to shopping and just around the corner from the subway. The rooms are clean, and the staff are friendly towards guests from Taiwan and Hong Kong. The only downside is that the building is old, and the rooms have a persistent damp smell.
