Gualala Surf Inn on the Ocean Bluff

Great location in a beautiful country, views are amazing!

Corner king suite was amazing— clean, spacious, charmingly decorated, fantastic view of Gualala and ocean beyond. Innkeeper Jade very pleasant and accommodating. Best stay we’ve ever had. Low price for such luxury. Were able to walk the Gualala Bluff Trail which runs through the property with our walkers. Good continental breakfast.

Lovely place usually but had a bad experience that should be reviewed . I went to fill ice bucket, left lid in room, and after filling and replacing lid, realized the inside of the lid was covered in dried vomit. Almost did not see it… brushed that off and then found a crusty spot of bodily fluid on the sofa. Initially when reported the response made me feel like I was complaining to get an upgrade. The rooms they offered were a downgrade to a smaller room. They did end up putting me in a room w view but I had no kitchenette and had planned to eat in. I ended up getting very ill for 3 days, beginning the morning of my departure, with a very bad stomach virus, without holding fluids or able to eat for 2days, and took 2 days off of work. I’ve stayed here many times and do think it can be great but also pretty sure why I got so sick. Lovely views.

The room was very tight for two people. We are two small people and we could not pass by each other between the foot of the bed and the console. Also the walls are very, very thin. That said, the staff was very nice, the location on the bluff is good, and the view from the outdoor area is lovely.

Super noisy bathroom exhaust and heating fan in the room. Bed is too high. Lack of basic supply such as tooth brush. No place to sit for breakfast.

Continental breakfast with espresso drinks available was appreciated. Quiet and peaceful. Guidance on local restaurant options was helpful. Only downside was lack of working main heater in room, which was not disclosed to us when we were 'upgraded' to this ocean front room. Only source of heat was a 'fireplace" which turned out to be a small desktop electric unit.

Surf Inn is a gorgeous motel with a setting overlooking the bluffs and the ending of the Gualala River as it meets the vast Pacific Ocean. Rooms are comfortable and parking in front is more than ample. And huge bonus is the on site laundry room available for guests. You just NVR know when this comes in so handy . Daily continental breakfast is nice and coffee is available all day either in each room with a provided Keurig Brewer or at the front office. Beverages are also available at the front office for a minimal fee . Walking distance to most eateries

The Location was nice and quiet and upkept. The Staff at the front desk "Jade" was fantastic really helpful in every inquiry that was needed she went above and beyond. Jade is one of the nicest property agents I have encountered in my travels and should be commended for it thank you.
