Was a wonderful stay in such a beautiful old village in Switzerland. Gruyère is a beautiful place to visit and hotel de ville is right in the heart of the old city and castle walls. The castle is amazing and a must to visit inside. If you are visiting Switzerland, definitely add Gruyère to your itinerary.

Wir waren mit Freunden aus USA-Schweizer die uns in der Schweiz besucht haben und den Wunsch geäussert hatten, sie möchten gerne wieder einmal ein FONDUE ESSEN. Somit kam der Vorschlag von uns, dann fahren wir nach Gruyère. Im wunderschönen historischen Dörfchen mit viel Charm, haben wir im Hôtel de Ville wir 2 Zimmer gebucht. Die Schweiz-Amerikaner und wir waren begeistert von der Atmosphäre im Dorf und von dem freundlichen Empfang im Hôtel de Ville. Die Zimmer sind einfach eingerichtet, besonders gefallen hat uns die rustikale Einrichtung. Gruyère ist tagsüber von vielen Touristen bevölkert, aber am Abend ist es ein Paradies, wenn alle Touristen das Städtchen wieder verlassen haben. Das Fondue am Abend war inkl. der Bedingung sensationell.

Magnifique et chaleureux séjour à l‘Hotel de Ville à Gruyeres, belles chambres, grande et silencieuse. Nous amis de Dresde ont été ravis par le charme et l‘accueil. Nous avions pris le dìner le soir sur la belle terrasse au centre de Gruyères. Les deux serveuses ont fait leur travail avec éfficacité et charme. La fondue fut délicieuse et la raclette présentée sur un petit four pivotant, unique en son genre. J‘ai oublié le buffet du petit déjeuner: beaux choix, y inclus méringue et triple crème de Gruyères. Absolument à conseiller !!!

Nous avons eu beaucoup de plaisir à passer c'est quelques jours dans votre établissement. Nous avons trouvé votre équipe de personnel très agréable et sympathique. La chambre était grande et propre avec une vue dégagée et imprenable sur les remparts de Gruyère. Nous avons vécu un agréable premier août suisse, merci beaucoup à vous. Personnellement, nous pouvons avec confiance vous recommander cet établissement. Si je le mentionne, c'est que ce n'est pas toujours le cas. Alors bonne continuation à vous et certainement à une autre foi.

Room was very small and somewhat old, tired. There was everything we needed, but a bit underwhelming. "Minibar" was a promotional drinks showcase with a large glass front brightly illuminating the whole room 24/7 . Reception desk is non existent, but receptionist lady is very friendly all the same. The big letdown however was the restaurant: we are Swiss and therefore know about Fondue. Fondue came at the same time as the salad and had to sit there waiting while we ate the salad. Fondue doesn't do well waiting. And it was bland. We did not receive any fork until we asked for them. We also had to ask for dinner plates. They brought us one piece and seemed surprised to hear that we both wanted a plate to eat our dinner. All in all, the two ladies working the dinner service were terrible, but they were terrible with a smile. Next time we try the hotel across the town square.

Chambre double deluxe. Très belle situation avec vue sur le bourg. La chambre est agréable, très bien équipée et la literie est confortable. Petit bémol pour la salle de bain un peu vétuste (joints, robinetterie) mais propre. Séjour en famille très apprécié et très content, je recommande.

We booked the deluxe room with a 4 post bed. The best feature was the opening window with a lovely view of the valley. We had a fridge. The mattress was comfortable, the feather pillows too empty. I had requested a separate shower, but they contacted me to say that our room had a shower over bath, unless I paid more to upgrade our room. But the shower head over the bath would not stay in the right direction, which was awkward to use. Otherwise the room was satisfactory.

Dear team of Hotel de Ville Gruyères, I want to take this short moment to express my sincere greetings to the precious team, from the service to the owner of the place, who all showed much serviceability and dedication to ensure a great and smooth stay. The room was big and very comfortable, the bathroom had all required amenities and the bed was big with high quality bedding. The reception ladies were most agreeable and smiling, which is always great when you come as a tourist in an unknown place. I very much appreciated how solution-oriented they all were, given that the taxi let me down last minute, and I would have missed my train if the owner himself hadn't taken me to the train station. The authentic, excellent, Swiss service, just the way we like it! I highly recommend for a real experience :)

The hotel was clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and charming. We enjoyed a lovely view from our room window, which we left open in the evening, and the sounds of country life. It is a perfect place to explore the village and the trails surrounding the area—there is lots of good hiking. We got a perfect parking pass ( a little bit of a walk from the hotel). There is so much to explore—we will be back!
