Stayed for one night on a powered site, did not use facilities as self contained. They were old but very clean. Relaxed, friendly Owner. Part of Camp Saver so received a discount for NZMCA. Close to town and check in/out time was flexible which was appreciated.

Great hosts, Nina and Ken, helpful and knowledgeable. Very “Old School” site, very New Zealand. Clean and comfortable accommodation, beautiful surroundings of the Memorial Gardens and old Bush Walking area. Free open air Lido adjoining, run by local council for benefit of the community. Kitchen with all necessary equipment, huge fridges to store food in. Warm, well powered showers, clean toilets and washbasins. Short walk to Greytown centre for pubs, bars, restaurants and amazing breakfasts (Try “the Offering” on Main Street). Wonderful Cobblestones Early Settlers museum five minute drive, 20 minutes walk away. All other guests seemed friendly and helpful too. I stayed in the glamping Yurt tent- great fun. Well appointed. Extra blankets provided.(Needed, as chilly late February evening!)

Incredibly friendly host, Ken, was very helpful with communicating how to find our accomodation. We arrived in the dark and had no trouble locating our hut. Beautiful campground. Large camp sites set in trees. Very nice.

Compelled to review. A comment below has me mystified. The warmth and ease of Ken who runs the place is almost legendary. I cannot imagine a hostile greeting and I wonder who the would-be camper met. The site is utterly beguiling , old fashioned, well run and a landscape of trees that echoes the dominant feature of a very charming town. All so beguiling that after several years of camping here we’ve moved to a plot very nearby

I went to go and have a look at campground with the view to book for a few days. Barely a few feet in i was approached by a "gentleman" asking what i was doing there, i explained and was told in the most rude and aggressive way to turn around, look the other way and walk away and that he is not living in a fish bowl. Wow! Now, if he had explained in a civilized manner i would have said fair enough and that would have been it. Common courtesy from owner/worker was sorely lacking.

10/10 recommend this as a place to stay in the Wairarapa. Beautiful brand new cabin, we received a free upgrade to the blue ones - newly built, warm, clean and love the decor. Linen and Towels were provided, power and a jug too. Us Wellingtonians did the Pinnacles Trail and Patuna Chasm over the weekend with meals and markets in the Greytown centre. Cheap holiday away that isn’t too far from home - will definitely return PS: there is a very friendly fat cat who loves a belly rub.

Camped here very regularly over the last few years. It’s a blissful site, tucked amongst trees on the fringe of a mellow town. The campsite is meticulously managed. There’s something old fashioned about it, which is absolutely not a veiled suggestion that the place is beyond sell by date. It’s amenities are on the mark and spruce and cared for. A wonderful site for children and in a beautiful neighbourhood. Ken and Nina manage this place with warmth, kindness and commitment. Hospitality at its very best. Sadly, no more staying here. Moving permanently, just down the road - lock, stock and dogs. That’s how seductive this camp ground and its hosts are.

When I first checked to book at this campground, I inquired direct to the property as to whether a dog was allowed for a caravan booking, I was met with the following short, quick response "ABSOLUTELY NOT!". I have no problem with dogs not being allowed on the property for this booking, but to get a response like this is extremely rude and impolite. Not even necessary - I felt I was asking a valid question - not as if I was asking to bring my herd of cows to come stay. On that note, I can only assume the owner (or staff member) is not very nice and thus I would not ever stay in a place where such rude people work/own. Unbelievable 'service' from someone in the accommodation industry. Maybe you get enough bookings not to care what people think of you or what you say.

Can’t rate this place high enough. Only stayed for one night but could have easily stayed for longer!! Ken, the owner (I think that’s his name) was so accommodating and friendly. Has everything you needed, swimming pool as an added bonus, toilets and showers were so clean and well kept, the surrounding trees and bush were gorgeous and so peaceful. Very clean and well equipped kitchen. Honestly such a nice spot to stay and camp and get away. Highly highly recommend.
