Prom Hotel

We were on a coach tour staying at the Prom Hotel for 4 nights. One of the best coach holiday hotels we’ve stayed at with a lovely room, excellent food and such pleasant and obliging staff caring for us. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. An all round lovely holiday.

This Hotel is very inviting with cold rooms dining rooms plus rude bar staff also the toilet in the main bar was overflowing with water all over the floor give this Hotel a wide berth as there is plenty of choose. My partner and I were very disappointed as it was nothing like we imagined.

My dad went on a coach trip and stayed in this hotel. As you can imagine bus trips are generally for elderly people this time of year which this hotel is not disabled friendly despite what it states on their website. The hotel put my dad in a room where he had two flights of stairs that he at to climb up and down to get to his room in addition to using the lift. When asked if he could re-locate to a different room, it was not possible as he was informed the hotel was full. However, they did say that if he called reception they would see if they could get someone to assist him but my dad didn’t want to keep bothering reception and staff. The temperature of his room was cold and spent his first night cold whilst his friend in another room slept in his coat. He reported his room being cold and the hotel sorted this out but felt it was an inconvenience. Food was not that great. Had a beef stew one night which the beef was like leather. Not quite sure how this hotel is rated a 4 star but can’t help that as they were elderly guests on a trip. They were treated like being in an old people’s home with very little respect like you find in some residential homes. Each time they reported a problem, he said they didn’t seem to be bothered. This was my dad’s first bus trip experience and is frequent traveller, mainly abroad. But wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone especially for those with mobility issues or disabled. Certainly not disabled friendly.

We booked a premier twin room, i told reception i had walking disability. The room they had available was up 6 steps. Those t could manage, on arrival we was dismayed to find 10 steps up and two down.The room we were given had a dirty carpet, holes in the wall, lamp not working This was a standard room, not what we paid for.We were woken at 6 am with deliveries outside our window. So we were moved to another room. Breakfast was poor no, ham, cheese, pastries, no hash browns as were on the menu the 5 days we were there. Then to top everything off were sent a bill for £47 via email and taken from our bank account two days after we had left. This bill was for the people who came after us. I rang and complained and got told it was an error and was told these things happen. I got my money back and i will never go there again. This hotel is never a 4 star, it was grubby and needs a makeover.

This is a very good hotel in a great loction. I stayed there 24 August for 2 nights and everything you expect for a 4 star hotel What I did not like was no hot water in the shower,I reported it to the reception at 8am having had a cold shower so I was disapointed to find there was still no hot water in the shower when we were getting ready go out for the evening.I was in room 108. I would still return to this hotel in the future

Poor service & two mattresses. We booked a Premier Double room and ended up in a room with two single beds strapped together, NOT a double bed. Our room no 115 was right next to the bar veranda with people talking till 1am every night. Part of the bathroom trim came off and the hairs in the bathroom. The chairs were dirty. We also asked about dinner on Sunday evening and were told they were serving till 9pm only to find out 1 hour later that all the tables were booked!!! So we never got the chance too sample the food paling very hard to find. The 70’s psychedelic carpet is still there but very faded that looks dirty and really needs replacing. Would not recommend this hotel Psychedelic 70’ carpet still there but faded

Just returned from a 2 night stay to celebrate our anniversary, we booked the promenade suite and it was absolutely worth it, beautiful decor, lounge, king sized bed, large bathroom with a tv and twin sinks, room service was no issue, staff friendly, pub nice, food nice, check in was easy as was checking out. We had lovely weather so the air con was much appreciated, location isn't the best as the road is busy but it is nice to sit and people watch around Joyland

We were made to feel welcome the moment we stepped into the reception area at the Prom Hotel and throughout our stay all the staff we met were really kind, helpful and friendly. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a lovely little balcony that we appreciated sitting out on in the sun. We loved the hotel's Mermaid Bar - great décor and good range of drinks including cocktails available. It's a bonus to have outdoor seating as well and we were very lucky that summer had finally arrived! Food served in the bar and restaurant area is excellent - lots to choose from and reasonable prices. I chose the sea bass - it was amazing, so tasty and crisp. The breakfast is served in the Green Room on the lower basement floor and is really nice with hot and cold items to choose from the buffet. It was disappointing that on 2 mornings in a row there were no croissants or pastries available though. The location of the hotel is great - opposite Britannia pier with all its amusements, bars, rides, food, drinks, evening entertainment and direct access to the beach. It's also only about 5 minutes walk from the Empire entertainment venue along the promenade and just a couple of minutes walk from the shopping street that leads into the main part of the town. The hotel doesn't have its own car park but there are several car parks nearby and the council offer a scheme to purchase a 72 hour ticket or weekly ticket saving money on longer stays and valid in a few different car parks around the town. We really enjoyed our stay at the Prom Hotel and didn't want to leave. We will soon be booking to return for our next holiday in Great Yarmouth.
