Lovely setting but let down with the internal design. The public areas felt cold and uninviting. The modern aspect was not quite reached. The staff we met were all lovely We visited the Spa, my partner loved the steam room and the sauna, but beware the complimentary slippers are not suitable for the changing room, they are very slippy on the wet floor!!

We had a brilliant stay in the hotel. From start to finish everything was fabulous. Our room was lovely, staff were so nice and the food was amazing. So lovely to look at the lake whilst having breakfast. Such a relaxing break in a beautiful location.

I have never met a member of staff as rude as Vanessa on the front desk. Not only did she make us feel bad about having a complementary meal due to it being our honeymoon (which we did not have in the end, due to her rudeness) they tried to charge us for it on check out. Our breakfasts were either the completely wrong order or what we ordered was undercooked and had to be sent back. For a so called 4 star Spa Hotel, I wouldn’t give you even a 1 star rating. I can honestly say it’s the worst place I have ever had the misfortune to stay. NO ONE should EVER have to stay here and put up with what we had to. Appalling!!!

We are here now to celebrate our 42nd anniversary know the area well and have stayed in most of the hotels in Grasmere Village. Looked like we got a great deal for the Daffodil on line, so booked it. Had to send evidence of our offer for them to match it ! Arrived today. Lovely room, big bed. Nice view of the lake (we booked a lake view room). Big window overlooking lake but no chairs (Inn on the lake has great seating in lake view window ). Pulled bedside table and 2 basic chairs over to enjoy the gorgeous bottle of fizz our daughter got for our anniversary (went to bar to ask for glasses). Lovely place but needs someone to personalise it. Not sure who they are aiming at. I could easily tell them what it needs Restaurant does not look welcoming and we won't come back

The Daffodil is situated in a fantastic location by a main road through the lakes with fantastic views. Our room was spacious & I really liked the seperate shower & bath. All of the staff I met were friendly & helpful, and the food at both breafast and dinner was delcious. Thank you for a relaxing stay.
