room was a little jaded (curtains not well arranged, window had a beading missing, and the bathroom was just a little past its prime) and the tea/coffee hidden in a cupboard (why?) and there was only one sachet of hot choc and one pack of biscuits for two occupants - but the bed was huge, and we loved the two bottles of still & sparkling water which met our two preferences! These days a couple of charging points would also be welcome. Chosen for location so can't fault that - and the lovely doorman (the local cat) was an absolute asset to the hotel. Would book again.

Waitress was great, really good service. Food was excellent. A great place to meet and eat with the family. Beautiful old hotel overlooking the beach and sea. Although it was too cold for us to sit outside, the terrace looked amazing too! Highly recommended.

I stayed in a room with a balcony and sea view, it was spacious with a big king size bed with 4 pillows. A nice touch to have both botted still water and sparkling water fresh every day. Everyone was friendly and the bar/restaurant were comfortable for solo travellers. Also popular with no-guest visitors. The prom at Gorleston is lovely and I walked a few miles every day and ate/drank at the pier hotel when on my walk.

Went to our friends wedding at this hotel and stayed the night at the hotel too. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The ceremony was personal and lovely. The 3 course meal was hot and delicious. My starter was baked camember, main course seabass which was cooked perfectly, dessert chocolate fondant pudding. The room was clean and tidy.

We have visited The Cliff many times, eating in the wonderful terrace restaurant, looked after by our wonderful waitress Emma. Emma is very attentive, looks after us when we have visited and remembers us on our return visits, great food 🤩🤩

The cliff hotel is a well kept hotel with great reception areas and lovely staff. The food is of a good quality and worth a visit; although one of our party had the seabass and the piece of fish measures 7cm by 3cm so for around £21 we felt we were being ripped off for a plate of samphire. However the beef brisket was nice and with plenty on the plate. The rooms we had were not particularly great, they are of a reasonable standard but the to didn’t work in two of the rooms (reported) and the shower in our room would not let you turn it to full because of water hammer in the pipes making it sound like there was some bed activity going on. In addition, and the nail in the coffin, the room was ice cold all night, no heating on, and even wrapped up in two quilts we were colder than I was on an expedition to base 133 in the Ross sea reach - Antarctica. Then comes the price £185 for one night! I’ve paid for cheaper nicer hotels on the strand in London. Whilst the food was good and the downstairs atmosphere was good and the staff are super lovely none of that outweighs the hefty price tag for Mediocre room. Sorry cliff hotel; but over priced for a cold average room with a shower that doesn’t work.

My husband and I made a booking for Sunday dinner in the restaurant. The dinner itself was excellent, really nice veg and the meat was tender and tasty. I am gluten intolerant and Emma, who served us, was so helpful. She was knowledgeable about the ingredients and she recommended a gf dessert that was not on the menu which I enjoyed very much. Emma ensured I was able to enjoy my meal and not miss out as is often the case. Thanks Emma for a lovely afternoon.

Very good service and the food is always amazing, served by Charlee who was brilliant. We came especially for my mums birthday. She had a lovely time. My mum enjoyed a pina colada which she wanted especially for her birthday. We enjoyed the roast dinner and would always come back again.

We booked lunch at the Cliff Hotel today for my brother's 60th birthday. We were looked after by Chloe and she was absolute amazing. So attentive and nothing was too much trouble. She is an absolute credit to the Cliff Hotel. We will definitely be back, Thank you Chloe!
