Hotel Giardini Naxos Beach The all-inclusive package here is more limited than we’re used to, for example, cocktails are not included. Snacks are hardly offered in the afternoons and evenings, which is standard in other all-inclusive hotels we’ve visited, and there’s nothing available to buy. Room We stayed in premium room 260, and everything was fine. The air conditioning worked well, and the bed was very spacious and comfortable—the best hotel bed we’ve ever had. However, the faucets throughout the building are worn out and look unattractive, including in our room. Restaurant Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were okay, with enough variety. The dessert buffet was extensive, but the overall quality of the food was mediocre, major downside was that most vegetables were served cold every day, which wasn’t enjoyable. Keeping the food warm seems to be too much effort here. There was little variation in the menu, and no themed dinners. If you have a dairy allergy, unfortunately, this hotel doesn’t offer many options. At breakfast, there are Schär products, but during dinner, there’s no suitable dessert. Sometimes ice cream is available, but there’s no dairy-free sorbet. What really bothered us was the restaurant chairs. They are made of solid wood and become uncomfortable after a short time, making it feel like they want you to leave quickly. Entertainment The animation team was fun and spontaneous, but the evening music was always performed by the same band or artist, which became predictable after a few days. On Tuesday evenings, there was no music at all, as the performers had their day off. We enjoyed the fitness area, which was well-equipped—something you don’t often see. We used it often, although some equipment could use a fresh coat of paint. Surroundings The hotel is located right by the beach, and everything is well-maintained. There’s also a beautiful park where you can enjoy a drink. Unfortunately, many of the benches at the Olympus Bar outside are uncomfortable as they are too deep. The hotel has a shuttle bus to the stunning town of Taormina, which takes 20 minutes and costs €5 per person. Renting a car for a week costs around €350 and is recommended if you want to explore more of the island. Final Verdict Overall, we had a nice vacation, mainly due to the beautiful surroundings. However, we found the hotel overpriced for what you get in return. The all-inclusive package is a stripped-down version of what is standard elsewhere. The food was mediocre, especially having to eat cold vegetables every day. We heard many complaints from other guests. Unfortunately, there were hardly any accommodations for my dairy allergy. Our final rating is a 7. Sicily is definitely worth visiting, but we wouldn’t choose this hotel again.

Before I came here, I saw comments that the money was stolen and the problem of non-sea-view rooms. I was very anxious. I was worried about whether to cancel the reservation and change to another hotel. After I checked in, I found the hotel was good! First of all, I did n’t have anything stolen, including jewelry and cosmetics placed on the outside. Secondly, this hotel is mountain side, so you ca n’t avoid seeing the mountains and the sea. No matter which room you stay in, there is no 360-degree sea view Room, balcony view can refer to the picture below, I think the view is very good; in the end, in fact, there is no saying that the Chinese are arranged in a room with a poor view, because my left side (closer to the mountain side is disadvantageous) Location) Two people live in Italy. I live in the United States with Americans on the right. I threw my pajamas on the sofa before going out, and when I came back, I saw that they were neatly stacked on the bed. This property has amazing views; the location is within walking distance to the main village; there is wonderful full breakfast; parking on site and friendly staff. This property is an older vintage hotel with a family history. But like everything in Taormina, there are stairs to navigate. (An elevator is currently under construction.) We had an amazing room (#24) with a full terrace overlooking the gorgeous gardens and stunning sea. The room and the whole property is full of vintage and classic furniture, art and ceramics. As in any older building the walls are thin; some other guests could be more considerate. You can walk to the main area of Taormina in just a few minutes - but again, the whole town is nothing but stairs! We left the car in the hotel parking lot for our whole 3 day visit. We walked everywhere including to restaurants. For a tour of Mt. Etna the company picks us up at the road. Just make sure the town gondola is 'in season' if you want to go down to the beach without driving - it was still closed for the winter in the first week of April. We found the staff very helpful and friendly - especially Sebastiano who handles the extensive breakfast offerings with covid protocols. There are both hot and cold offerings. It is all very good.

The hotel is really great. The hotel is located on the Taormina Mountain. When I went there, I happened to encounter the Chinese restaurant 3. I was very fortunate. It took only 7.8 minutes to walk from the Red Restaurant. The breakfast was good. It was very close to the viewing platform. It only takes 4 minutes

The Hotel Ipanema is a little dated, but in a way that added to the charm of a lovely week away. Rooms are well sized and kept thoroughly clean and well serviced. Lots of cupboard and drawer space and it was nice to have a proper room safe with a key and a mini fridge was nice to chill wine. All rooms face the same way which gives every balcony a side sea-view. Obviously, the higher floors (4th) have the better views. Christine on reception was fantastic in offering help and advice on local tourist questions and in sorting out a quite room for us (as per my pre-arrival request). We travelled with Jet2Holidays who are always exceptional with their communications and transfer arrangements on the day. We stayed on the half board option. Breakfast was a little limited in range compared to bigger hotels, but there were enough options for us to eat well before of day out. Typically I had bread, rolls, ham, boiled eggs, yoghurt, and fruit each day. Evening meals offered a choice of 4 starters (including salad, pasta, risotto, or soup); 3 main courses; and 4 desserts (2 cakes, fruit salad, and crème caramel). Service was quick and attentive every evening with food served at your table brought to you on serving dishes on tea trolley. A special mention for Vincenzo who looked after us so well. We did not use the roof top pool because the sea was so inviting at Isola Bella. Mario in the bar (who also served in the restaurant) was great entertainment. There is also a nice secluded outside area to sit and lounge or to have your pre-dinner drink or post-dinner coffee. Tourist tips: The local roads do not have pavements but the traffic is respectful of pedestrians and we felt totally safe walking the 40 mins to the centre of Letojanni and 1hr 20 mins to Giardini Naxas for two different days out (just walk towards oncoming traffic). We walked up into central Taormina twice, and used the cable car once (6 Euros) and bus once (1.90 Euros). Walking down from town is much easier but take care on the uneven steps. Great days out to Etna (excursion) and Castelmola (the ride by local bus was entertaining and the views spectacular). The Amphitheatre is a must to see and the local public gardens are worth a stroll. Best value local bars / cafes (Al Paladini – Café - Bellcafé Italia near Isola Bella zebra crossing) and Capriccio (in central Taormina). Finally, shop around – central Taormina itself is very expensive so eat and drink where the locals do.

We last stayed here 4 years ago for one night before our flight home the following day. We decided to do the same again this year and our stay was once again very good. Our room was overlooking the courtyard which was absolutely fine. It was spacious with a really nice bathroom and comfortable bed. The key card entry system to get into the room once again foxed us for a few minutes. We visited the roof top bar for a drink after eating out and were surprised at how quiet it was, I guess the hospitality industry is still suffering to some extent. This really is a fabulous spot and we very much enjoyed our drink. We payed extra for our breakfast to enjoy the view of Etna, which undoubtable is lovely. The last time we stayed we were offered table service and a great selection of hot food this time it was a self service buffet, there was a good choice and some hot options, however a little pricy. You clearly are paying extra for the view. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend. When we are next in Sicily we will definitely return.

We needed a hotel room close to Catania’s airport because we had an early morning flight. I was reluctant to book at this hotel because it got horrible reviews. I took a chance and we were pleasantly surprised! The hotel is reasonably priced, the rooms are clean and it’s really close to the airport! They have free shuttle service to and from the airport. We needed a 5am shuttle and they were right on time! We were scared to eat there after all the negative reviews, but the food and wine was great! They had a friendly staff and provided great personal service! We both had delicious pasta dishes and actually all the food looked good! The only negative was the look of the hotel outside. They clearly need to fix up the property on the outside, but I’d prefer a clean room and a good dinner! Don’t listen to all the bad reviews, this hotel is perfect for a one night stay before or after a flight!
