I'm struggle to put my review in words cause I am amazed by the services offered by the hotel and the staffs. First of all, upon reaching Gero station from Nagoya station using Hida Line, we are thrilled by the surrounding atmosphere and we took our time snapping photos around not knowing that the hotel offers a free shuttle bus for all their customers. The driver waited patiently at the exit gate, holding the hotel sign board waiting for all customers to leave the Gero station. This is a real PLUS in our stays. After we checked in, the staff lead us to our rooms and explained to us on the facilities of the hotel and the staff helped to exchange the size of Yukata after studying our heights. Very observant and thoughtful. There are 3 different hot springs in the hotel and if you have time, you can visit all of them. You can always put on your Yukata and walk inside the hotel region, including the stunning Japanese garden. Just that, most of the services/shops in the hotel are closed on 9pm JST. Remember to plan properly. The room is very spacious with 2 comfortable beds, a small tatami region for you to enjoy your private Japanese tea time. We love the breakfast provided by the hotel as it offered variety of both Japanese and Western breakfast. There is a shuttle bus service (usually once per hour for instance 10am, 11am and 12 noon) to fetch the customers back to Gero station. The staff waved us good bye is another amazing experience provided by Japanese. It is just amazing feeling. Tips: 1. You can purchase the 5Days JR pass and enjoy unlimited ride on some JR trains if you plan to visit Nagoya region and a day trip to Tateyama Alpine Kurobe route. 2. There are not many tourists during our visiting time (24 April 2023) and we love the peaceful feeling of it. Just that, it also comes with not many restaurants are available during the day.

When I arrived at Gero at 15:15 on the Takayama line, there was a pick-up from other inns, but there was no inn. When I came to Gero pudding on foot, I thought it was different from the place I checked in advance when I saw the signboard of ”Yukai Resort” on the slope behind, but I headed there. I don't know where the entrance is. I found a signboard of Yukai Resort and found it located below, so I went there. 1 floor is no elevator in the parking lot. When you go up to 2 floor on the stairs, there is a front door. When you receive an explanation at the front desk, you receive a local coupon ticket 1000 yen. The bathroom is written in 30 minutes on the paper pasted in the indoor and open air 2 places. I don't like it because it is bathing for men and women, but I decide to enter the men's hot water. I take my luggage by foot and elevator to the room. I display yukata yukata and choose it myself. There is no newspaper. There is a store. There is a personal computer corner on the way to the room, and there is a cartoon corner. There is a male group yuuo Ryoma. The key to the door of the room is not chien by pressing the protruding part of the knob. There is a bathroom and toilet across the door. The location of the light switch in the room is near the entrance. Table 1 bag of tea bag of teisu Yu Yu Shirakawa tea. There is no sweets. When you read the explanation sentence, there seems to be a transfer car running between the station and the main building, but there is no night. There is no early morning. It seems that the bathhouse in the main building can be used, but I thought that it was not enough to go because it was different from men and women. The towel is not in the bathroom and is in the open door. There is a refrigerator on the veranda. There is an electric pot. The open-air bath walks on the floor like a golf course. Keys are put in a key locker. There is a washroom. The surrounding scenery is not desired. The checkout costs the bill when you close the key to the screen.

The facilities and space inside the house are very good. We have a mixed design of Japanese and Western styles, with a separate washlet. Japanese breakfast and evening Japanese dishes are delivered to the room according to the time chosen by the passengers. They are different every day. They taste good and are quite exquisite. I took baths in indoor and outdoor hot springs. The only dissatisfaction is that the wifi is too poor and the signal is often interrupted. The price is about 2,000 RMB per day for two people with one hotel room and two meals, which is pretty good. The location is not far from the JR station. The hotel has JR pick-up stations in the afternoon and JR drop-off stations in the morning, which is very convenient.

I stayed overnight for the first time with my cousin and wife. The best time to see it was over, but the autumn leaves on the road to the entrance were wonderful. The building retains the remnants of its founding. It was a historic appearance where successive emperors' families stayed. I stayed in a comfortable Japanese-style room with 10 and 5 tatami mats. The large communal bath is an alkaline simple hot spring. In particular, the open-air bath with natural rocks is the best. The skin became smooth and smooth, and it felt very good. It is better to change the men's and women's baths the next morning. Supper is in the room. There are many types of menu in kaiseki cuisine, and we enjoyed the seafood and mountain food luxuriously. Breakfast is a Japanese set menu in the hall. Breakfast with dinner was also satisfactory and very delicious. It was a memory of a pleasant trip.

Experienced the best satisfaction at a ryokan and not expensive price.
The building is old and old, but it was well maintained and clean, and unlike the appearance, the interior was quite spacious.
The owner's family were very friendly and provided the best service and meals.
The hot springs are small too, but the water is very good, clean.
It's a place I definitely want to visit again later.
Thank you! :)

I compared it to Gero Shinkan! I stayed at Oedo Onsen Gero Shinkan the day before and stayed at Almeria the next day. I stayed at Gero Shinkan for the third time and Almeria stayed at least 10 times, but I stayed for the first time in a long time due to the influence of Corona. Personally, I thought that Almeria was higher than Gero Shinkan, but I was surprised that I stayed this time and the level was too low. In the first place, I understand that I think that measures for corona should be taken only on the upper side and only in shape! The disinfectant solution is always placed in front of the elevator on each floor in the Gero Shinkan, and it is placed in various places, so it can be used immediately, and give me an alcohol spray at check-in so that it can be used in the room. To. Almeria is only in front of the first elevator, not on each floor, and even if you want to use it after pressing the button in the elevator, there is no disinfectant, so you can't do it. The dining venue is also disposable in the Gero Shinkan, but there is a trash can to throw gloves at each table, but Almeria says that the gloves used should be placed on the table. things. What for gloves? It's disposable because it may get fungi, right? I don't understand why you can remove the mask and put it on the table where you eat. The staff will follow you with rice as an infection control measure, but at that time I dropped the rice sprout on the floor ... Then I ”dive” once in the water to get wet so that the rice does not stick. I tried to use it as it was. Did you drop it now? When I said, I washed it just by diving it, and I said Do hall 々! When I told him to wash it properly, I took it to the water supply and flushed it lightly and used it again! When I asked other staff, it was a staff from Philinpin, but please don't stand up to a person who is not educated properly whether you are from Japan or from Philippines! And the last time I stayed, there was a person in the bath with tattoos. There is a poster in front of the bath saying that people with tattoos or tattoo should not enter, but they do not have staff or look around at all, and after all the quality of the hotel is poor, so such customers come. I think. The Gero Shinkan is safe because the staff comes in frequently by temperature checking, etc., so it is safe because the eyes are attentive. And the price is higher in Almeria than in Gero Shinkan, and the content of the meal, the quality of the staff, the service, and the corona measures are inferior. Even though the price is high, you don't have to stay in a bad place (laughs) As a result, I will never go to Almeria again! !! I'm sorry that I liked it so far and went well, but if I stay in Almeria in the future, I will stay at Gero Shinkan! There are a lot of hotels in Gero, but I don't recommend staying in Almeria. At the front of the hotel, there were many awards and cherry blossoms such as Rakuten Travel, Yahoo Travel, Jalan, Rurubu in 2018 〜 2021, etc., and selected as an excellent hotel, but what was the basis chosen I feel like I think it was. The evaluation is also eyebrows (laughs) I will go to Gero Shinkan again at the end of the month! I think everyone should also use Gero Shinkan and other hotels. Please refer to it.
A spacious hotel where all guest rooms include hot spring baths.

The room is large, the private bath facilities are very convenient, and there is an izakaya nearby for eating out. The taste is very good and the price is reasonable. Except for the inconvenient transportation, everything else about this hotel is very good.

At the ryokan, each unit has a desk and a flat-screen TV. There is a private bathroom with bidet in some units, along with slippers, a hair dryer and free toiletries. At the ryokan, units come with bed linen and towels. Available every morning, the breakfast at the property includes Asian dishes along with a selection of local specialities and fruits. The area is popular for cycling, and bike hire is available at this 4-star ryokan. An indoor play area is also available for guests at the ryokan. The hotel is not in the Gerv area. It takes about 20 minutes to get over from Gerv. There are not many bus shifts. They usually come by car and have plenty of parking spaces. The room is also the size of a general hot spring hotel, but you must go to the hot spring to take a bath. There are many hot spring pools in Xialv. There are also steamed wooden barrels in the hot jacuzzi. The dinner breakfast is very rich and delicious. The price is very good. It is the 𩠌 dish that cannot be selected for dinner outside the official website.

We felt cheated. This was our second visit to Wanosato and we stayed at the same suite (Tenryu), but the experience was completely different. The room smelled strongly musty (our clothes in the suitcase still smelled the same mustiness for days after leaving Wanosato). There were cobwebs and balls of dust in the room. As a result, our dust allergy was so severe that my wife had to keep a face mask on in order to sleep. It was clear that Wanosato was short of staff. Rarely anyone at the counter; even the dinners were toned down/reduced from our last stay 4 years ago. It was not the staff's issue. They worked hard and had a good attitude. It was the issue with the management/owner. Faced with staffing shortage, the management apparently chose to maximize profit by making available more rooms than the staff could handle, and in the process the service standard deteriorated significantly. To be charged 250,000 yen per night for the suite, we expected better (at least a clean suite). The steadfast commitment to quality by luxury ryokans and hotels in Japan is the reason we keep coming back. Such trust is lost with Wanosato. We will not revisit in the future.

GGuest UserIt feels like an ”adult's inn” with a quiet appearance. First of all, I liked that the front desk was not noisy because the number of rooms was small. Since the room was on the 1st floor, I was able to go outside for a while. I was healed by the mountains, the moon, and the murmuring of the river that I looked up from there. If it was 2F, could you see the river? Both the open-air bath and the indoor bath are not large, but it was nice to have a clean and calm feeling. I didn't take a reservation-only private bath, but maybe because I staggered the bathing time, I was able to enjoy it by myself both at night and in the morning. And the food is wonderful. It looks delicate and beautiful, and everything was really delicious ♡ It feels luxurious to be able to have it quietly in a private room. Also, it is worth mentioning that all the staff were nice and kind. There was a lot of attention to detail. For example, when I told the staff about the place I went to today, the proprietress who came to say hello to me at dinner knew it well and said, ”You went there, how was it?” , I handed over my preferences for breakfast the day before to the person in charge the next day (because I was staying for several nights), and asked me, ”Is it okay to have the same rice porridge and tomato juice as yesterday?” I was also surprised that the information was shared so that it was unnecessary. I was very happy to spend a relaxing and enjoyable time with my husband and wife on a reward trip once a year. It is a wonderful inn that you will want to visit again, and it is recommended.
CConstanceThis appears to be a family-run business with warm hearted hospitality. The hosts didn’t speak much English but we managed to use a digital translator to communicate.
Am grateful the hotel provides free shuttle pick up from Hida Osaka Train station. We had to get our previous hotel to ring Senyukan to inform them
about the expected timing of our train arrival. We appreciate the immense patience of the hotel shuttle driver. She put up with 2 changes of timing of our train arrival because of significant delays from the Highway bus from Nagoya to Takayama where we had to connect to Hida Osaka Train station.
We had booked to stay 3 nights and loved every moment of the stay. The kaiseki Hida Beef dinner had the perfect balance of sweet/sour/ salty taste. Each dinner also had a cooked fish either grilled, steamed or poached, in addition to sashimi ( raw seafood). The soup was exquisitely flavourful as was the freshly prepared salad and tempura ( deep fried vegetable fritters). All the food items were plated with pleasing artistry.
We had booked the hotel for its hotsprings which lived up to their therapeutic reputation. Although the sex-segregated pools were for hotel guests,
we found ourselves often the only ones who used them at the time. Highly recommend this hotel for its affordability and wonderful value-added hospitality.
The only downside of the hotel is that the wifi signal is not always stable in the guest rooms. But wifi is more accessible from the hotel lobby.
MminnyjinnyThis is a ryokan where you can really feel the retro sensibility of the Showa era! It may be a little inconvenient because it is an old facility, but
the owner and staff were all really kind,
and both dinner and breakfast were very sincere and delicious meals!^^
It is not big, but it is also advantageous that you can enjoy a 24-hour hot spring bath!
It was also really nice to walk around the hot spring village nearby!
I had a hard time because there was little information,
but I made a good choice!
I highly recommend it to those who want to experience a real Japanese ryokan rather than a sophisticated one!
GGuest UserSince my child was 1 years old, I decided to travel with 3 family members and stayed there. There was also a kids room for children, and the children were very excited. The room was large and I was able to spend it freely. I was just wondering if the air conditioner in the kids room and the electricity were not on. Also, in the women's bath, the temperature of the children's bath was quite lukewarm and cold, and the fence of the crib was low, so it was difficult because I couldn't put the child in. But I also took an open-air bath in the room and it was a very enjoyable trip. Thank you very much.
GGuest UserI think it will become more popular if we update the room photos.
I was just satisfied with everything!
I think they gave me an empty double room instead of a single room, but thank you so much!
张张Very good value for money, usually including one pot and two meals, breakfast and dinner, dinner is quite rich. Pay 2000 extra, you can drink freely.
The address is halfway up the mountain, it is actually very close to the station, but it is not convenient to go up the mountain with luggage. The hotel shuttle bus runs every half an hour. It can also be used as a commuter bus in this museum, station, other hall, and all the attractions are near other halls.
There are many elderly people in the hotel, probably because of the high cost performance.
The hot springs are almost open 24 hours, cleaned up at midnight for 2 hours, I go in the morning almost no one, the water is slightly hot, soaking not long.
The massage chair on the first floor is very advanced, and I have used the most comfortable massage chair.
SSeaside806144I used it on a tour of a travel company, but when I put a welcome drink, the juice is not cold, the coffee is cold and wet, and there is no welcome feeling It was very regrettable. But the hot spring was a trolley and it was good to be covered with a high cheek and the scenery was disappointing. In addition, there was a space where the cartoon and picture book were placed in the free massage machine and the space was good. Also, the foreign customer who was at the front desk late at night was very good with the correct word use.
GGuest UserI used it to celebrate his birthday. I made a reservation for the anniversary plan on Jalan net. When I make a reservation, I would like to pay for the lodging fee without him knowing it in the desired column for the ryokan. Is it possible? I filled in and made a reservation, but there was no contact from the inn until the day before I stayed. He said that he would make arrangements so that the other person would not know. Also, if you are coming from Nagoya, please change it so that you can have dinner in a private room, and if you come from Nagoya after receiving an explanation of the prefectural discount before hanging up the phone, please use it! I hung up the phone with a very good impression. On the day of my stay, I received a call from the ryokan, and when I called back (different from the time of reservation confirmation), it was about the prefectural discount, but people from outside the prefecture could not take the PCR test for free, from Jalan net. I was told that the prefectural discount would not be applied to the reservation, and I tried to cancel by opening Jalan net during the phone call, but I couldn't. I haven't seen that screen right now...” ”I don't know the price of the PCR test.” I was wondering if you called me without looking into anything, but since I'm going to use it for a celebration, I'm fine with the prefectural discount. and hung up the phone. (I wanted to write a review after staying, but the reservation was canceled without permission) I was sightseeing near the inn to change my mood, and it seems that I received a call from the inn again, and I didn't notice the answering machine. When I asked, he said, ”I have something to say about the prefectural discount, so please call me at 090.” Even though I said no more, I was irritated because they asked me to call a different number. Noticing that I was irritated, he called me instead, and when I asked what kind of contact he was, he said, ”Do you have an inspection certificate because you will be using the prefectural discount?” Just in case, he brought a test certificate, so he was allowed to use the Kenminwari. I listened to the phone while being amazed, but decided to head straight to the inn. I was going to take a bath before dinner, and when I went to the reception to pay for the accommodation, I was told, ”I'm not ready yet.” Did you tell me over the phone? When I told him, he said, ”I haven't been able to enter yet...”. ”I'll call you when I'm ready.” He was in the room after the bath, so he was known after all. It's dinner time and the young proprietress? I don't know who you are, but (because no one at the inn introduced themselves), I had a good time taking pictures. The next morning, the same person prepared breakfast for me, and I felt very comfortable going home with him. When I returned the room key and was about to leave the inn, a petite woman in her 70s turned to him and asked me, ”Are you going to be born soon?” I couldn't say anything because I didn't know what he was talking about. I was walking to the car with him, but I gradually remembered what I had said earlier, and said to him, ”Sorry, I can't forgive the person just now, so I'm going away for a while.” He said, ”It's okay, let's go now,” but I didn't allow it. The young proprietress who prepared dinner and breakfast and the person who made insulting remarks were standing side by side, but he stopped me and I left the car. I am still angry about what happened last Sunday morning. There is a saying that all is well that ends well. I think most people stay here to relax their bodies and minds to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays, and other occasions. At the end of the day, when I saw him off, he said something that insulted the human body and laughed. He and I were both very upset and ruined because of him. If you're working with people, why don't you at least say goodbye at the end? I feel sympathy when I think that I have only lived like that. I regret booking this inn. Not worth the rating as others have reviewed. It is really a pity.
