I have been staying at this hostel since December 22nd, and everything has been very nice, good and clean rooms with nice bunks and the hostel includes a good breakfast. Then at 02:40 on December 27th four young drunk men came bursting into my room with laughter and noise and turned on all the lights, they had obviously been out partying but they did not stop partying when they entered the room, and they used the toilets all the time and made a lot of noise. I became quite upset about this, but I was concerned for my safety if I said anything, so I left the room for over an hour, when I came back to the room those four drunk men were snoring and breathing heavily so I could not get any sleep for the rest of the night. The following day I complained to the reception about this inconsideration. Jessica, the manager of the hostel took matters into her own hands and told me she would make a note about those men for the future. Jessica also put me into a new room where I would be alone for my last night at the hostel so I could sleep well without anybody disturbing me. This is what I call good service and Jessica went beyond her duties to compensate me for this inconvenience and that should be rewarded.

The hostel was easy to spot on the corner of the Square when i got off the bus at the station and it was a warm welcome and efficient check in to a clean and airy room with a view onto the corner of Ayre Square. The beds were comfy enough and the bathrooms were clean. I appreciated the breakfast, which was simple but ample, and with a slight local twist. The atmosphere was good in the hostel throughout my 3 days there, and this is in part due to work of the staff. I'd particularly like to mention Tom, who was always friendly and provided good tips and suggestions when asked. The only drawback would come if you are a light sleeper. It's in a great location but remember it's a hostel in Galway right above a bar. It does get quiet for a few hours before daybreak at least. I did feel tired after 3 nights. I would go back though, but maybe for one or two night next time!

The hotel is right next to the bus station, the El Square is just across the road, there is a visitor center across the road, and there is a question to ask directly. We are going to Asford Castle the next day. The staff at the visitor center helped us check the bus time and booked a taxi for us. The hotel's facilities are very distinctive, the interior is old-fashioned, the beds are old, similar to our beds of the 780s, but very clean. The entire hotel room is partially filled with the smell of disinfectant. The hotel breakfast was delicious and the rest were average.

We had a very nice time at the Hyde Hotel in Galway. It is very centrally located which was helpful for anyone without a car. It was also just a 3 minute walk from the train station, which was very convenient. All the staff was very helpful, gave us recommendations on things to do and places to eat. We got the Bed and Breakfast option, and it was definitely worth it. Their breakfast was delicious, we especially liked the pancakes. Our only slight disappointment was that our room did not have A/C, but the window did open to get fresh air and they had a fan in our room which helped. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Galway.

Nice hotel. We had a family room which was grand for 2 adults and 2 kids. Plenty of space. The rooms though are a little old and run down. Location is fine, less than 5 mins from Eyre square. Breakfast was good and the staff were very nice. As I mentioned the hotel rooms need an update.

The Dean Hotel is a boutique hotel just off Eyre Square in Galway. It's only a 5-7 minute walk from the pubs and shops in downtown Galway. The staff is friendly and accommodating. You have a choice of two restaurants. Elephant and Castle is on the ground floor and from Sophie's on the top floor you can see downtown Galway and the bay. The rooms are cheerful, comfortable and ours had a turntable with a couple of LPs. There were a few more LPs in the lobby. The outdoor pool is heated and was very popular during our stay.

Absolutely fantastic time. The room was very spacious, the bed was really big and comfortable too. Jesus at the restaurant was very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Plenty parking spaces. Taxi into town between 7-10euro.
I would definitely recommend getting the breakfast, they have fantastic choices, everything was delicious .
I will definitely come back to this hotel. Galway is absolutely amazing too, maybe a 15min walk into centre, but taxi was cheap so that's how we travelled.

Everything was great in this hotel, from check in to check out. Friendly staff, comfortable warm quiet bedroom and great leisure centre. Breakfast was great, lovely fresh strawberries and raspberries! Brown sliced bread would be welcome though. I would recommend this hotel and I will be back.

茗茗叶斋主The deciding factor in choosing this hotel is free parking. Facts have proved to be very wise. What is surprising is that the hotel facilities are very sophisticated and the breakfast is delicious, especially the smoked salmon. About 30 minutes walk to the town, the hotel reception lady is beautiful and enthusiastic, and helped us book a 2017 Michelin restaurant to eat raw oysters. It was great, and it would be difficult to eat without a reservation.
GGuest UserWhat a lovely location, a gorgeous hotel and the swimming pool was great with the added bonus of an outside hot tub overlooking the sea. My room was 631 with a large king bed, desks, adequate bathroom with bath and shower, seats with table, desk and TV and all the usual facilities in a hotel room. No sockets by the bed though which is something all hotels need to have now but that was the only criticism of the room.
Staff where lovely, helpful and friendly although I give 4 stars as check-in didnt happen for 10 minutes due to no staff being at the reception, no idea why but it got sorted OK.
The hotel is clean, the room was clean, well presented and very welcoming. I had breakfast which was the normal cooked breakfast buffet, toasts, pancakes, breads, cereals, tea or coffee, juices with plenty of seating options and a view of the sea. The staff were great, the food was good and the atmosphere relaxed. The view gives you a great start to the day.
I used the pool which was great. Some families there with kids, a swimming lane, working steam room, sauna and heated jacuzzi. The outside hottub is amazing. It is a must do at this hotel. It was raiing on my stay so the outside tennis court and kids play area werent being used but its worth a mention that they have these.
Location feels remote but its only 5-10 minutes from Salthill and Galway by car. There is a petrol station beside the hotel on the main road and a small village. I guess you access the hotel by car, taxi or bus.
MMichael RIt's always difficult to tell online when researching hotels if it's a good location, good service, etc. The location is hard to beat as it's right where the action is. The music does seem to go late every night (not just the weekends) so if you have a room facing the front, keep that in consideration if you're a light sleeper. Service was ok, there was a day where our room was missed so we had to inform the front desk. The front desk was very helpful. The room size was quite good for us. I would definitely recommend.
GGuest UserWe had been to a family christening at Tully Cross where we had spent two nights. Having stopped and had lunch in Galway a few months before the outbreak of covid we had decided that we would like to have a stop over the next time we passed through and as we were to pick up and later drop off a hire car it was ideal. We made the booking at the Skeffington Arms online a couple of months before. From arriving on the Monday to leaving on the Wednesday we were made to feel very welcome. The location was ideal for us being very central and within walking distance of the coach station for our return journey to Dublin Airport. Our room was a very good size and with the weather we were experiencing the air conditioning in our was most welcome. From our arrival to our departure the staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. We would have liked to have stayed longer but due to work commitments this wasn't possible. A very enjoyable stay, over too soon. Steve and Linda from West Yorkshire
SSightseer52655227986I really wanted to rate this hotel a little higher, perhaps 3.5 stars. The PROS: 1. Great location, not far from the bus and train stations and an easy walk to restaurants, shops, and pubs. 2. The hotel itself has a nice pub; a great place to stop in for a drink or snack, with an Irish band certain days of the week. A shout out to Zed and Tina at the bar. 3. Our room was spacious and clean. CONS: 1. The hotel is a little worn around the edges, and the beds and pillows were not all that comfortable for us. I heard that renovations are in the works to expand the reception area and hopefully the rooms will be renovated as well. 2. Housekeeping was inconsistent. One day we did not get new coffee packets and cream; another day the dirty glasses and coffee cups were not taken away and replaced by new ones. We realize that these things happen, but when we took our dirty dishes to reception there was no apology or offer to fix the problem and in fact we were given a lame excuse along the lines of ‘maybe housekeeping thought we wanted to keep the used cups” (with dried coffe in them?) and we were told to carry our dirty cups and glasses to the bar and get new ones from them ourselves. In fact, the hotel seemed to be staffed mainly with young inexperienced people who definitely could use more training in the area of customer service. We had some other issues with service and for this reason the rating cannot be a 4. I’m not sure I would stay again, unless changes are made.
GGuest UserI stayed at Flannery’s Hotel Galway for two nights as part of a tour group. It located a short bus ride away from the centre of the city and is is a fair walk from shops and services but not difficult to get to by any means. I stayed in a twin room and both the room itself and the hotel complex were clean and well maintained. Staff were respectful and helpful throughout my stay, getting fans for our room on two occasions to make myself and my friends stay more comfortable. The room was spacious and catered to our needs well. The breakfast provision was decent however the hot food is served by a staff member and can only be accessed once as they run it by a voucher system. As well, for those with dietary requirements the staff were a bit unsure of the nut contents of foodstuffs during breakfast as well as in a dinner service. We enjoyed the dinner but more options for those with dietary requirements and restrictions would be beneficial as pickings were limited or not able to be met for the three courses provided. That said, this is a lovely hotel, one I would recommend to those coming to Galway. I really enjoyed my stay there.
very friendly staff SPA area is one of the highlights, warm pool with various built in jacuzzi / water jet installations to relax your body or give it a targeted water jet massage. comfortable, heated relaxation beds. (Turkish) steam room and (Finnish) sauna. Gym is a ”pass”: it has various cardio and weight lifting apparel. Probably right for the size of the hotel, but could offer more. Very nice bar / restaurant area, stylishly equipped. Food is also good. no breakfast buffet (which is good from a food waste point of view). Instead you can get any breakfast freshly prepared for you. And the eating times are really short. booking, arrival and departure went smoothly. Suggest you book over the hotel platform. I got the cheapest rate there...
GGuest UserMy boyfriend and I stayed here for one night and it was perfect for what we were looking for. Reception were friendly, the location is as central as you can get and we didn’t have road noise, room was clean and comfortable 🥰 For the price, it is what you would expect, we will definitely be back for our next short stay in Galway 😁 Only thing to note was we could hear slight noise of TV and chat from other rooms, this didn’t effect us though 🥰
GGuest UserStaff were very friendly and courteous. Breakfast was excellent. Bar decor lovely.location is right in the heart of the city. Loads of pubs, bars and restaurants. I would highly recommend Eyre Square and a stay in the Victoria Hotel.
GGuest UserOur stay here was at the end of the trip and our second time in Galway. It’s an excellent location - just a 5 min or so walk from Eyre Square and a good place to stay if you’re going on one of the ferries. The room size was as expected and comfortable for 2 people. The breakfast is cooked to order and done very well. If you need a bus, it’s on a main line for one that goes to Eyre Square/Salthill. Above all, the atmosphere is welcoming. Will definitely stay there on future trips.
