The room was okay. It smelled a little funky due to the ac leaking on the carpet but otherwise fine. 2 days after we checked out, we noticed a $264.50 charge on our card. We were never informed by the inn of the charges. They just showed up on our bank statement. When I called, the agent explained to me that it was for damages reported by housekeeping and another manager. It was reported that one of the beds was soaked with urine and had to be thrown out. “It appears that someone stood and peed all over the upper part of the bed.” I told them that this absolutely did not happen! The room was left eon the condition it was found in. My children are 12 and 19, bigger than me, and we’re not alone in the room at any point other than a few minutes before we all went to bed for the night. If a bed were in that condition, we would have noticed and said something. I tried to dispute the charges with the inn but were told that they had pictures and there was nothing we could do. When my husband called to talk to the manager, the man told my husband “Do what you need to do.”, and hung up on him. Lesson learned: always take before and after pictures of your hotel room!

Excellent stay & would definitely stay here in Galveston again. Rooms are dated, for sure, but tidy and clean. AC was fierce!!! Kept us cool on a very hot day. Pool was fantastic - waterfall, hot tub, splash pool for babies, palm trees.. heaven. Continental breakfast was fantastic! Great service, I left a good tip. I'm still thinking about their grits 🤤. Weeklong parking while on our cruise, lot was very secure. Enjoyed a nice meal at Gaido's while in house. Overall - a gem.

What more can you ask for 79 bucks. Great location on the Seawall with view of the pool and ocean. Check in was smooth and staff was friendly. Spent a few hours in the hot tub drinking beers from Fish Tale bar. Room was cozy and cute decor. Bed was comfortable with 6 pillows on each bed. Breakfast had eggs, pancakes, waffles, grits and tacos. Have to eat at the room or pool. No place to sit but to me a minor inconvenience. For those who complain about this hotel don’t!, You spent next to nothing to stay here!

I was not impressed with this hotel what so ever. the breakfast staff was rude and there is no where to sit you have to fix a plate if you so desire and take it back to your tiny room that does not have a table. The room smelled so much like bleach that you needed to leave the door open to air out the room. Very thin walls you could hear the other people talking.

We booked a stay at Gaidos Seaside Inn in Galveston prior to our 10/30/2023 cruise. What a mistake! The motel is old, and layers of paint, like lipstick on a pig, can’t hide everything. Our first problem was trying to find the Office for check-in during a heavy rainstorm. After two phone calls and our third trip around the block, we finally found the Office. The lady working the desk was very nice. Once in the room, we immediately noticed there was NO place to put our luggage except on the bed or on the floor, despite having a large open area near the bathroom wall that could have accommodated luggage racks or a table, or at least some comfortable chairs or small sofa. Many savvy travelers hesitate to put their luggage on the floor of a motel room because the floors are not regularly deeply cleaned, and leftover yuck from prior guests is NOT where I want to place my things. However, sleeping with our luggage on the bed was not an option. We are elderly, and bending over to get stuff out of the suitcase from the floor just didn't work! It was painful to say the least, and hard on my arthritic knees. There was also NO place to sit, except on the floor, on the bed, or on the dirty, cheap plastic chairs outside. There were 2 wooden chairs by the window but 5 minutes on that chair gets you numb butt. The bed was much higher than normal, requiring this arthritic old lady to literally “climb” onto the bed! I also had to keep pulling the corner of the bottom sheet and mattress pad back onto the mattress during the night. Definitely not conducive to a good night’s sleep, especially after a long drive in heavy rain. The noise in the room was another issue we had to deal with. There were LOTS of noisy black birds outside our room. A simple fix would have been for management to place fake owls around the trees to discourage the birds, but they didn’t do that. I guess $20 at Amazon is too much for them to spend to get their guests some peace and quiet, and to reduce bird messes around the pool and the property. In addition to the incessant bird squawking, we had to listen to the air conditioner that sounded louder than most large diesel trucks. When the AC unit wasn’t running, it was very stuffy in the room. The bathroom presented a whole bunch of challenges. First was hunting for the hidden light switch for the light near the sink. Second was the low height of the toilet – good height for a child but not for a grown adult. They should have included a grab bar so we could haul ourselves up to our feet. The property layout is very strange and difficult to navigate. You can’t always go along a straight line to get where you want to be, and signs are not helpful or easy to understand. The next morning when I was trying to locate the breakfast place in the cold wind and rain, I had to hike around the property a few times before I stumbled across it by accident. Signage for this is almost non-existent. Despite the motel advertising a

Husband and I decided to try someplace new for a weekend getaway and chose this place based on the Gaido’s name and the website stating it was newly renovated. We stayed in the “Gulf View Luxury King Ground Floor with Private Hot Tub” or “Mike’s Corner” room. This room boasted several amenities such as: upscale linens, private hot tub, THREE flat screen TV’s, Bluetooth music center, enhanced bath with separated shower/tub, wet bar, with a private entrance and patio.  What they DON’T tell you is that : The “upscale linens” stick to you all night because the AC doesn’t cool properly and you sweat all night long. The tiles in the bathroom sag with what appears to be water damage. The “private patio” is literally on the corner of a very busy intersection. Therefore, loud cars drive by all the time. There is also a sidewalk VERY close to your “private patio” which causes people to walk right by the “private patio” and your room at all hours of the night. The entrance to get back into your room from the patio/hot tub area does not have an operating lock on the door. The aluminum shutters are not made to be actual barriers to keep the public from getting into your room, and since there is a broken lock on the actual door back into the room, we had to band it shut to feel it safe to even sleep at night. The main entrance from the parking lot is also dark and not well lit at night. Does not feel safe at all. The hot tub is rusted all around the bottom and barely reaches 101 degrees. There are only TWO TV’s and only ONE of them actually works part of the time. The Bluetooth center never worked properly either. The wet bar has a filthy, rusted, and dusty plugin 6” plastic fan hooked on it that was not even plugged in. There was no purpose for this nasty fan aside from apparently showing the type of thing that is completely overlooked by the maintenance and cleaning crew. The seats besides the wet bar are stained with who knows what. The one door is also missing its knob. The enhanced bath needs a new plug to help actually hold water and the cool waterfall and other extra showers don’t work either. The soap dispensers are rusted and dirty. The electrical sockets are all rusted as well (we understand it’s by the Gulf, but have you not heard of using plastic or another material that might hold up better?) The doors will look like they have been jimmied open at least a couple of times. The tiles are not even fully covering the ceiling. If I were the Gaido’s family, I would be ashamed to put my name and reputation on this hotel. If this little hotel is this bad, I’m curious what their restaurant kitchen looks like? If it weren’t for the last-minute trip and non-refundable payment, we would have just left. What a waste of $700 bucks and we will never go back that’s for sure!! See pictures as to why you may want to skip this place too.

Worst experience ever. We are not “luxury people” and do not have high expectations, but we did had to leave this place after one night though we had a four day reservation. Next door guests fighting and drinking outside our room, yelling “f*ck” and threats for hours past 11 PM - calling management had no effect (I have never had to “report neighbors” on a “holiday place” before?!). Felt so unsafe and distressing. Next morning they started brawling again from 8 am. Room was dirty, old, worn down, and the door to the bathroom could not even close. Dirt and holes in the bed sheats. Appears online to be a hotel, it is NOT. It is a motel, and we had the worst possible location on floor level, so noisy and not a spot for a relaxing holiday. You feel like a joke thinking this could be a nice stay and for believing in the reviews that are positive. We could not waste our holiday in these disgusting, sad conditions and had to get out. Hotel staff stated that there were no other rooms available, we could pay for our night and leave. I showed pictures of the incredibly dirty room and told about the unsafe presence of our next door guests asking if this really was their standard and worth our money? Staff said she could not do anything for us but would pass it on as she could/would not compensate us. She asked for my e-mail which I gave, but I have not heard anything. They do not care about customer service. Such a waste of money and makes you feel so stupid giving this place your hard earned money when you are finally off work, as the rooms are dirty and they have no respect for peace/relaxation, when they let creepy, drunk, yelling men dominate the atmosphere, forget about family friendly vacation time. Did not get to use the pool or eat the breakfast so can not evaluate that.
