Hotel Lucine

No water available without a fee. No coffee makers in the room. Front desk guy had an attitude. Overall it was fun.

The rooftop bar at the Lucine is a must on your next Galveston visit. We went there on a Saturday evening for drinks and music. There were singers and guitarists playing to a lively crowd. The breezes coming from the gulf while we enjoyed drinks and listened to music made for an unforgettable night. We will go back on our next trip to Galveston!

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Lucine, the staff was amazing and went above and beyond to make my stay a good one . They were so friendly and kind , and the rooms were so nice and clean . I also really did enjoy the patio/pool area. The staff really does go above and beyond to provide the best experience.

Was here for two weekend nights for a girls trip in late September. The hotel is lovely. Great location. Food & drinks are excellent and well priced. Staff is super friendly and professional, very eager to help the guests. The rooms are very bare/minimalistic but have everything you need. The downsides of this hotel, however, must be shared. The parking situation is absolutely awful. Valet is not available. There is woefully insufficient parking in the lot, and almost no nearby street parking is allowed without a residential permit. The lot is also poorly designed such that if one oversized vehicle parks in a bad spot, or one person does a bad job at parking, you cannot get even get through the lot. This hotel should hire a valet and use the lot for valet for overnight guests only. I cannot overstate how bad this parking situation is. On Saturday night there was live music at the rooftop bar until midnight. It’s a nice event that the hotel offers, but this is way too late when it can be heard, very loudly, in the rooms. Last, for the price per night of this hotel, it seems understaffed. I never ordered a coffee from the bar in the morning, or a drink from the bar in the evening, without a surprisingly long wait. Only one person working at a time, at peak times. Same with check-in and check-out. Based on the price of the room per night, it is surprising to me that they can/will not hire more staff.

We had a great stay at Hotel Lucine. All the staff was extremely friendly, we loved sitting on the rooftop bar in the evening and getting a drink or some food. We enjoyed just walking barefoot to the beach and getting a morning swing. Rooms are not the biggest but they have all you need and were newly renovated and clean. So for us this was an excellent hotel pick for a trip where we combined beach, NFL and Houston visit. You might not be impressed from the outside but the hotel just grew on us day by day. Thanks to all the staff at Hotel Lucine.

Staff, food and ambience is top notch at this new refurb of a mid-century motel on the Galveston Seawall (terrific ocean views from the second floor rooftop). The style makes you feel like Elvis or Nancy Sinatra may walk in at any time. Great pool with service/excellent menu and food. Rooms are minimal but have everything--internet/desk/top of the line bath products and shower/comfortable beds and bedding, and remarkably quiet. I'll be back for sure.
