Have just returned from Sweden after having stayed in Sifferbo Stugby with my husband and 3 teenagers. I can highly recommend staying there. The Stugby itself is well located just off a main road (handy for day trips out) but quiet and peaceful enough to think you’re staying in the midst of a remote pine forest! We stayed in cottage Djuras. The kitchen was well equipped with utensils including dishwasher and coffee machine. The cottage was super warm and comfortable although the living area could do with an extra sofa in addition to the small 2 seater one. For a small charge, (around 5 euro), the Sauna was lovely evening treat. A communal washing machine meant we didn’t have to go overboard in bringing lots of clothes with us. In Stugby’s around Sweden, it’s common place to bring your own linen & towels or pay an extra charge - Sifferbo is no exception to this. Ronald, the host, was really accommodating and nothing was a problem for him. We even borrowed sledges & snow walking poles! The location is fantastic for Winter activities. Lake Runn in Falun and Romme Alpin (Skating & Skiing) are less than 30 min drive. Skiing at Romme Alpin is well priced and an excellent choice for the novice or intermediate skier. We all learnt to ski here in just 90 minutes! In addition, there are many stunning walks on the doorstep in Sifferbo to choose from. Borlange town is a 15 minute drive. Big shopping mall and huge supermarkets - amazing choice for every dietary requirement. We loved the Swedish supermarkets! Plenty of big shopping stores and restaurants too. In sum, a great stugby in a fantastic location to enjoy the beautiful nature Sweden has to offer.
