The Views Baia - Adults Only

A 4* hotel offending 5* facilities and overall experience. I cannot rate this hotel and its staff enough. The room was a generous size, the breakfast was excellent and all other food and drink was very reasonably priced (€7.50) for a cocktail. The spa area is amazing and very clean. The name of this hotel gives the clue that it’s high up and you need to walk down to Funchal or get the Bolt app. Rides were cheap or it would take less than 15 minutes to get to the centre. If you hire a car, the hotel offers free parking. The hotel has been renovated since the photos on Tripadvisor have been loaded - check the hotel website to see what it’s really like.

One of the nicest hotels we’ve stayed in. From our arrival and meeting Patricia at the desk who was smiling and happy. The staff in the restaurants were so friendly and the food was fantastic. A cocktail in the lounge was €7.50 which I thought was very reasonable. A 20-25 min walk to Funchal but be prepared it’s hilly. We hired a car and managed to park without an issue but tho k it gets a little busy towards late afternoon. The spa facilities were great although some people were a little noisy which is on the guests not the hotel. We will be back!

Staff denied receiving email re, accessibility, sent about 8 weeks ago. Then, it wasn’t their website I’d sent to, then, “oh, it shouldn’t have been sent to reservations…” when the checkin guy found it. The Studio I’d booked was described as “some way away”. I agreed to try the walk. It hurt. By the time I walked back to Reception to tell them it was too far for me to do repeatedly (restaurant, exit and bar all around same area), my foot was throbbing and my hip was struggling with my lopsided gait. I was in pain. I was told I would be moved today. As we were planning to be out all day I was happy to leave it until our return. On our return they said I hadn’t been moved because I hadn’t packed (despite being told not to unpack?). We went to pack, I collapsed over my ankle, my husband packed and moved everything a room closer to facilities but ‘without’ a view, (sorry, some trees about 3m away, a balcony with space for a single seat….from a studio? While I’m struggling to cope following a quadruple ankle break and surgery to restructure with metalwork, (also consequential immobility issues, ie, osteoarthritis, increased weight gain, pain and depression) I’m likely to be restricted to this room for the rest of my stay. I think not.

Booked through Jet2 & Stayed at the Views Baia for 7 nights in a deluxe junior suite. The room was clean & the kitchen area well equipped. Good choice at breakfast & this was enhanced with being able to order off the deluxe menu, lovely blueberry pancakes & eggs Benedict. Because we were in a deluxe room had a seating area for breakfast with spectacular views. We only had dinner in the hotel once & this was a carvery buffet with a good choice. Drinks in the bar were reasonable & the entertainment was good. Even though on a hill we found we still managed to walk back to the hotel after a day’s sightseeing. Good facilities & helpful friendly staff. We enjoyed our stay & first visit to Madeira so much, we have already booked again for our 26th wedding anniversary next September.

I contacted the hotel asking for an early check-in and did not receive a response. When I arrived the room was not ready which was fine, I asked them to contact me when ready which never happened. The receptionist who checked me in was very rude, just gave me my card and pointed to the luggage room. Was rude again when I enquired about beach towels. Was never told about gym, spa etc. Not even how to access the pool or where anything at all was located. Was a terrible first impression and left a bad taste for the rest of my stay. The balcony is tiny and pretty much unusable. My sea view was not much of a view. Hotel pool was cold. Breakfast was terrible. Tv has a few movies and tv channels but no netflix etc which I would have expected. Overall there are much nicer hotels in funchal for a similar price.

Beautiful hotel and amenities with a spacious room and a gorgeous view paired with a spa and sauna experience included it made our rainy stay rather luxurious. A bit of a walk up from the centre of Funchal but close to a few good restaurants, plus taxis are inexpensive if you use Uber. Food at the buffet in the morning was relatively lackluster but there was bottomless Brut and orange juice so the blow was softened. clean and quiet area, good for a quick get away.

Breakfast has a good selection and products were fresh. Staff were nice and helpful. The room was clean. The hotel has a nice atmosphere.

We stayed in a classic room with Mountain View. Very quiet room. Balcony rather small, but sufficient. Overall a lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Patrícia on reception was particularly efficient and helpful. Very good breakfast and buffet dinner taken on one occasion. Outdoor and indoor pools and spa facilities excellent. The walk in to Funchal and back was quicker and easier than expected having read other reviews, however, could be challenging for anyone with restricted mobility. Taxi’s are plentiful and not too costly. We will return, but note the following points which resulted in a score of 4 instead of 5: Gym has limited equipment for the size of hotel e.g only one of each type of equipment and weight machine broken; unable to sit at breakfast with a window sea view as reserved for Deluxe customers; although general cleanliness is very good the topper on bed did not have a mattress protector; replacement pool towels have a charge. Overall very pleasant stay.

What a lovely hotel. Room excellent, food excellent, facilities excellent. However, the absolute jewel in the crown of this hotel is the staff! Every single person we dealt with was fantastic, kind and extremely helpful and professional. Their care for my wife after she suffered a fall was truly wonderful. We will never forget your kindness.
