The Basics Fukuoka

No breakfast included, but there's a popular cafe next door you can go to. It's about a 7-8 minute walk from the center of Fukuoka, and walkable to Hakata Station for shopping, which we did every day!

The location is fantastic! It's super close to Musashi and not too far from the JR station. But the best part is how HUGE the room is!

I stayed in Fukuoka for a total of three nights on this trip: two nights in Fukuoka, then one night in Beppu after checking out, and finally back to Fukuoka for another night. To avoid taking my luggage to Beppu, I booked the same hotel, but with two different room types. The standard double room was actually better than the slightly larger room. The bathroom had no strange odors, and while it was a bit smaller (though still relatively large for Japan), the layout was more practical and didn't interfere with placing my luggage. The hotel offers self-service luggage storage, but it's not for overnight. After speaking with the front desk, they kindly allowed me to store my suitcase at the reception given my situation.

This is an art hotel with welcome drinks in the lobby that tasted great. The room facilities were a bit old, but the cleaning service was excellent. You just hang the 'make up room' sign on the door daily, and they do a thorough job, replacing dirty towels. Luggage storage is also available. The only downside is that it's a bit far from Hakata Station.

The hotel is a convenient 10-minute walk from Hakata Station, with convenience stores and coffee shops nearby. The lobby feels like a library, and the rooms are quite spacious.

The hotel itself is as advertised. The lobby is definitely large for a Japanese hotel, and the room size was decent. However, the bathroom had a strange odor, possibly from the pipes, and this was an issue for both nights of our stay. But, to be fair, the overall service standard was excellent. On the second day, I forgot to put out the 'clean my room' sign, but the hotel thoughtfully left fresh towels and water outside our door, showing great respect for privacy, which I really appreciated!

The overall experience was great, with a smooth process, attentive service, and a relaxed atmosphere that made it very enjoyable. Definitely worth another trip! The travel experience overall was good, with a moderate pace, comfortable environment, and thoughtful service that made me feel relaxed. Highly recommended.

The room was pretty good, definitely worth the price. The only downside is that it's a 10-minute walk from the station, so if you're planning a lot of city walking, you probably won't want to come back to the hotel to rest in between. The lobby, though, has a really cool design.
