The Kukuna

Hotel Kukuna is the best hotel in Kawaguchiko area. The location is excellent, facing Mount Fuji. From the balcony of the room, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Mount Fuji from any angle, and the coveted reverse view of Mount Fuji (Sakasa Fuji) also comes into view. The facilities and services are excellent, and the catering is very rich and delicious; the highlight is that the restaurant staff always warmly welcome every guest, making people feel at home. Especially Mr. Restaurant Manager and Mr. Taiya Yoshikawa. Mr. Manager's attentiveness and attention showed an excellent service attitude. Mr. Yoshida always entertains guests with a smile and a friendly and cordial manner. Enjoying delicious food while admiring Mount Fuji is a pleasant and unforgettable experience. Kukuna Hotel is my best choice next time I visit Lake Kawaguchi.

The location of the hotel is amazing. The room rate is so expensive, just for the scenery.

The environment and service are very good. The room faces Mount Fuji. It feels great to see Mount Fuji while soaking in the hot springs. The beef for dinner is also super good. After eating, I went alone and ordered an extra portion!

The price of more than 12,000 per night is really expensive. The room is not big, very Japanese-style. I am not used to it when I just came from a high-end hotel in Ginza, Tokyo, but the next dinner is too extra , Every dish is basically delicious. After eating, I feel that the price of the room is worth some fares. I didn’t go to the hot spring. I went up to take a look. The pool is not very big, and the view of Mount Fuji from the balcony of the room is okay (but there is a tree that is very annoying. ), but I don’t know if it’s the hotel’s sanitation problem or there are too many bugs here. When I woke up this morning, my husband and I both had rashes on our arms, which were very itchy. My husband’s was more serious and swollen. Breakfast is a normal buffet.

The service level of this hotel is the worst of all Japanese hotels I have ever stayed in. 8,000 RMB per night for one stay and two meals. In the evening, there is a buffet plus 3 western dishes. The quality of the dinner is very disappointing. Breakfast is also a buffet, the level is at best a three-star hotel, there is really no delicious food, it's too casual! When checking out, Taifei, the general manager, asked me to go to the room and hand over both room cards to the front desk before checking out. No hotel would do this! The waiters in other Japanese hotels are very respectful to the guests, but this KUKUNA, the waiters are very casual and do not take the guests seriously

[Front desk] When you check in, you will be given a welcome drink (herbal tea) while being given an explanation of the hotel. You can park in front of the hotel, which is very convenient. There is a staff member at the parking lot who will guide you to the front desk and carry your luggage to your room. [Guest room] Central building Superior room 35m2 THE KUKUNA is one of the best places to see Mt. Fuji, with a view of Mt. Fuji🗻 over Lake Kawaguchi directly in front of you from every room. The guest rooms only have shower booths🚿 and no bathtubs, but there is a large hot spring bath, so this is not a problem. There is free mineral water and Mt. Fuji cookies. It is a shame that there is no empty refrigerator to bring in. The Hawaiian-style indoor clothing is quite questionable and you don't see many people wearing it. The room feels a little cramped for three people, but it should be fine for two people. [Large hot spring bath] On the 9th floor, there are separate large public baths for men and women, each with an open-air bath and sauna. You can enjoy the magnificent view of Mt. Fuji from both the open-air bath and the indoor bath. The men's and women's baths switch depending on the time, but there is not much difference. Since bath towels are not provided in the large public bath, you must prepare them from your room. Is this a minority for a high-class hotel? [Dinner] There are three dining options, and you can choose from creative course meals + half-buffet, teppanyaki grill, sushi counter, etc. This time, we had a creative course meal in a private dining room. The staff who served us were very considerate, and the appearance and taste were both satisfying! [Breakfast] A Japanese and Western buffet-style breakfast in a dining room with a pleasant view of Mt. Fuji. The variety is rich, the taste is satisfying, and it's very satisfying! Please try the specialty French toast! [Service] The service provided by the staff was generally good, but the hotel itself did not offer a lounge with free drinks for guests or any space to relax within the building, which was disappointing as this service is now offered even at business hotels. The hotel is in a great location, so if it's a clear day and you can see Mt. Fuji, you can be satisfied with the overwhelming presence of Mt. Fuji, but... if you stayed on a day when you couldn't see the Mt. Fuji at all, I would seriously question whether the accommodation was worth the price, given our cheap house.

We stayed here for a family trip with our children, who are now adults and live in different places. We were searching for accommodations on a hotel website with the aim of relaxing in the hotel and watching Mt. Fuji, and when we happened to come across KUKUNA, which had a cancellation, we immediately made a reservation. ・Has an open-air bath ・A direct view of Mt. Not only did we meet our search criteria, but our impressions of the stay also included the cleanliness, comfort, service, and food. As soon as we arrived, the staff who came to pick us up from the car made us think, "I'm glad I chose this place," and that feeling continued until we checked out. At the front desk, in the restaurant, and in various other scenes, the staff's polite service, which conveyed their feelings, made me think that it felt like a fresh version of the Ritz-Carlton, and when I heard that the owner had worked at the Ritz-Carlton in Hawaii, I understood.
