If you are looking for a zen accommodation that is far and away from the hustle and bustle, one that exudes tranquility, has the perfect Mt Fuji view with no photobomb (no one to vie with you for the best view / photo spot) and is new, modern and basically impeccable a room, this is the right hotel for you. I have almost nothing but praises for this accommodation except perhaps its location. As it is allll the way up the hilly area and right on the opposite side of Lake Kawaguchiko’s main bustling area, you can really only rely on 1) their shuttle service which has pretty limited timings (last shuttle at 4.30pm) cos after all it’s mostly meant for shuttling guests on arrival only 2) taxi which is expensive ~ 10mins ride up for 3,000 yen 3) driving your own vehicle. Apart from its distant proximity to the station and all, it really is the best kind of accommodation where it’s almost like an attraction itself, the kind where you intentionally spend a night at the hotel just to get the full experience. Have a look at the photos and let the photos do the talking (sorry they are kinda blurry as I took screenshots off the room video instead). Service is excellent, and staff is really nice and helpful too albeit limited English-speaking staff. They have a Mandarin-speaking staff onsite which is really helpful. My friend and I opted for breakfast as well which is pretty good, but note that you will have to inform the receptionist on your preferred time slot (nothing like the buffet style / seating) at the end of the day (they would likely approach you to ask abt it though so no worries even if you had forgotten abt it). Note that the private hot spring bath in the room is simply natural hot spring water and not onsen; silly me thought it was onsen 🥲 anyhow, the bathtub was really clean too so plus points to the housekeeping. All in all, a really lovely, enjoyable and most definitely unforgettable stay at Kumonoue Fuji! Would I choose to stay here again on my next trip to Mt Fuji? Absolutely, in a heartbeat!

This time it was an early check-in (14:00) & a plan with a hot spring beer. The futon is already laid, but the room is 15 tatami mats, so it is wide 々. There is a digging futon, and a kotatsu futon is hung, but I thought that it could be used instead of a chair or table if there is no futon anymore. Perhaps because I went to the bath immediately, there was no one, and I was lucky to have a splendid rock bath and an open-air bath alone. This time, I think it's probably a drain in the washroom, but I was worried about the smell. When I heard later, I heard that the men's bath didn't smell separately. Other than that, it is a good hot spring rock bath, the dressing area is clean, and amenities such as lotion are also available. This bath is not a men's and women's replacement system, but I hope that the open-air bath of the men's bath is large, and one day it will be a men's and women's replacement system. I had dinner at the restaurant. It is a kaiseki dish at ”Gourmet Kai Seat”. There was a cute clay brush, and it was spring content such as firefly squid and cherry blossoms. Almost everything is set on the table, and some items will come later. It is heat 々 because it is prepared according to the time when the customer comes. Also, you can lend me Chakkaman and light it at your own timing, but you can keep your eyes on the hot lid, and if you take the lid later, you will be able to speak to me many times. I think the quantity and quality of kaiseki dishes are high. The special impression this time was the spare ribs on the Western dishes, which was quite large and delicious. Also, tuna sashimi consumption No.1 like Yamanashi Prefecture, tuna sashimi was delicious (other sashimi leaf scallops and Yamanashi salmon). In addition, when cooked, the cherry blossom shrimp kamameshi becomes a kamameshi or a slightly dark cherry blossom color, and the scent of shrimp is also good. At the restaurant, there is a customer service staff who is very attentive. Also, I thought that the elderly Nakai was kind and good at attentiveness and voice to customers. Thanks to you, it was a fun and delicious dinner time with the local wine of Yamanashi Fuefuki City (1,000 yen for bringing in) that I BYO. Breakfast is also at the same venue. It is said that only this inn is served in the Byu Hotel Group, and breakfast is served in Japanese food that is not hiking. Juice, milk and coffee are buffet style. The tuna sashimi (buts) was delicious from the morning, and Yamanashi's specialty treasure sword was replaced by miso soup, and it was delicious, such as fukimiso and handmade egg grilled. Coffee was also hot 々, and we drank the second cup together. １ The best thing is the cheerful greetings and refills from the morning of the staff. The atmosphere of the restaurant is bright. It is an inn that I want to use in different seasons.

Fabulous “destination” hotel…. The food was incredible (either French or Japanese degustation style menu). You could not get a better viewpoint for Mt Fuji. Advice: traditional public onsen so no tattoos but they have private baths too so happy days; a car would be helpful as the taxi service is fairly sp****; if you don’t have a car then book Taka from Native Fuji Tours (he was 10/10)… and pay the extra for a higher floor… we had one with a bath on the balcony… stunning!

We stayed in the hotel for two nights and had already informed the receptionist when we checked in that two friends would come visit on the next day where they stayed in another hotel closer to FujiQ. When our friends came, one of their staff blocked our way and accusing us that we had more people staying than we booked in an unfriendly, rude and arrogant manner as if he was a cop and caught us did something bad. We explained to him in both English and Japanese translation that our friends were just here visiting. We showed him their other hotel booking confirmation but he said no guests were allowed to come visit in any hotel and this is their some Japan hotels authority’s rule! We asked him proof of such rules which of course there isn’t any. No proper apologies and poor attitude remains from that staff. Very bad experience with the staff here. Other than that, the hotel property and facilities were great.

The best of the best, I really think it is one of the best hotels in Jiafu. The hotel service is very good, whether it is a few people traveling, I think it is very suitable, and the room is also very high-end and very clean. The hot spring is also very refreshing.

I stayed in a room with a hot spring bath on the Mt. Fuji side of the East Building. Blessed with the weather, I took a long view of Mt. Fuji from the evening to the next morning and soaked in the hot springs many times. (Laughs) The quality of the Kawaguchiko Onsen at this hotel is a neutral calcium, sodium-sulphate, and chlorine-based disinfection is heated and circulated, including a large communal bath and a private room bath. It is not a source hanging, but it is well managed including the spring temperature. It warmed up well. It seems to be a room meal, but I stayed at 々 at the end of the year 12/29 night, probably because there were many guests, in the dining room on the 7th floor, dinner was a course kaiseki dish, breakfast was a buffet. The beef stew that I expected was also served on the course because the amount was small, but it felt like a taste. Each was carefully cooked in a small amount, and the quality and quantity were satisfactory. I stayed until 11:00 in the morning, and I took a bath 5 times in another 々 large communal bath once, 3 times in the room bath. In addition, the large communal bath has a waterfall and an open-air rock bath in the foreground, and a large cypress bath in the back. I think the impression will change depending on the way Mt. Fuji looks, but I was lucky 々. Since it is the year-end and New Year holidays, the high accommodation fee is natural, but it was a satisfying content for the room, meal, bath, service, and environment that matched it.

This is the second time staying in Fuji Ginkei, while the first time was in 2017. The reason I chose it when I went to Kawaguchiko the second time was the perfect location, service, and food when I stayed in 2017. First, I should thank the hotel staff. As you might know, it is tough for solo travelers to book a Ryokan room. As a search around the hotel list, which I think is perfect for the stay, Fuji Ginkei is one of a few hotels which said OK. I appreciate it. The location is perfect as you can see the lake and mountain simultaneously. For Kawaguchiko, only a few hotels have this kind of view. When you arrive at the Kawaguchiko station, don't forget to call them, and they will pick you up. However, when you live, if you want to take their shuttle bus, you need to check their shuttle bus schedule. I choose the Japanese-style room which a balcony since I want to take many photos from my room. It is worth it as the view from the room is perfect. I can stay in the room and watch Mount Fuji all afternoon. It even has an individual bathroom in the room, which is kind of rare. If you stay in the hotel in Winter, don't forget to use the outdoor onsen. It will be freezing to get in and out, but it is worth it as you will see a very clear sky and many stars when using the outdoor onsen. You will never forget it. Moreover, don't forget to go lakeside, which is only a few meters away. You can take perfect photos of the lake, Mount Fuji and the stars. It is impressive. Service is as good as before, which you can imagine. When you are having breakfast and dinner, the staff will talk with you, introducing the dish and telling you much exciting and helpful information. For once, I was discussing さかさふじ with them and really learned a lot. The dish is good. As I stayed for two nights, I think the first night's dinner was better than the second. For breakfast, I don't have too many things to say. Overall, the dish tasted good but not as impressive as in 2017, maybe because I tried some Michelin during these years, which increased my standard. Overall, it is an excellent hotel, and the price is not that high compared to other hotels around Kawaguchiko. Once again, is it worthy.

We checked into Kasuitei Oya for just one night, as we were visiting Kawaguchiko and Mount Fuji en route from Tokyo to Matsumoto. The hotel sent a collection shuttle bus to the train station and was there in a flash. The staff at this hotel were excellent - they were very attentive and happy to spend time suggesting local things to visit. The room itself was beautiful with a great outlook over the lake. We booked a Western style room, which still had the traditional tatami mat area for relaxing but also had a raised Western style bed, which we enjoyed. We really enjoyed the baths and considered booking the private bath for an hour. In the end we just used the standard baths and the outside one was really lovely. I watched the full moon rise from the bath overlooking the lake - magical moment. Although you don't get a Fuji view from the baths or the room in the hotel, there is a balcony up on the same floor as the baths where you can see Fuji. The location of the hotel is brilliant - you can easily walk to restaurants and everything else you need. We spent a nice evening at a very nearby Izakaya called Cooliya bar, recommended by the hotel and a great place for some tasty plates and a couple of drinks later in the evening. We had the traditional breakfast in the morning. There were a lot of dishes within the breakfast - beautifully presented but a little bit too much food for me in the morning, with some of the dishes a bit on the experimental side for us! Overall, a great stay and would recommend.

About 10 years ago, when I stayed at Toyoko Inn in front of Himeji Station, I also made a membership card with a face photograph for 1500 yen.
