"I don’t remember if I’ve previously submitted a review, so I’m forwarding one again now. My room was quite small and dark, despite it being classified as a deluxe room. In room dining phone order was unprofessional and poor communication. The reception team were not overly friendly and always too busy. The concierge team were much better. The hotel lobby felt like Grand Central station and I didn’t feel I was getting personalized service. The rooftop breakfast was very good as well as the pool. I would, however, probably not return to stay as there are many other 5 star hotels in Munich which are smaller and provide a higher level of individualised service."

"Authentic and rustic on the outside, my room had been refurbished with up to date bathroom fixtures and shower, flooring, paint and furniture. Able to sleep 2 adults, 1 teen and 2 small kids. The Gruner Hof is a short walk across the Isar to Freising's old town and monastery (must see). Lots of options for public transportation; bus, train, taxi. Quaintness factors: 2nd story rooms have the sloping roof and ceiling. I'm tall. Took me a week to stop bumping into it. Across the street is a church/school with a bell tower that chimes the time from 7am to 10pm; you'll always know the time but doesn't bother at night. Good sidewalks everywhere."

"Because there was no elevator, it was hard to take the suitcase using the stairs. After the shower was used, water leaked from the bathroom to the room, so I think it is necessary to take measures against water leakage. Breakfast was good in a calm space."
