The beds feel like springs, the refrigerator was broken and they close everything early. The bar closes at 4:30 pm- no one is even drinking at 4:30. The restaurant closes at 6 and you have to either take a ferry (which closes early if there’s no cruise ships) or take a 35 dollar cab which only accepts cash. DO NOT COME HERE!!!! The hotel is very unaccomodating Unfair to guests.

This hotel is across the street of the Taino beach and club resort. It is a 3 story hotel. It looks good from the outside but…the rooms are VERY outdated. The walls are so thin that you can hear your neighbours talking!! No elevator. The hotel has 3 ice machines, one per floor, but the only one that works is on the third floor…The rooms have a small bar like kitchen. We had one plate, one coffee cup and 4 knives…it has a microwave, a very small coffee pot but we asked for coffee packets and they were very hard to get! We were told to go to the reception across the street (Taino resort) where they have complimentary coffee in the morning…The fridge was ok. Small bar like fridge! There was no hairdryer in the bathroom and I had to ask several times to get one. I finally did after 3 days! The bed was very comfortable! When we arrived, the tv remote didn’t work so I called the front desk several times and they finally gave us a new remote the same night. Our room was facing the marina so the view was pretty. Lastly, the room’s doors (front and the communicated door, had a large space between the door and the floor so we had to put towels to prevent critters from coming in!! Will never go back!!

Stayed at Flamingo as we were in a fishing tournament in Freeport and it seemed close in proximity to the event. I have stayed in the past and the rooms are clean and convenient. Not a Ritz by no means , however,if you like to fish it is just a room to stay and very close to your boat. It is attached to a full service resort so you can enjoy the beach, pool and restaurant. My issue while staying at the hotel was the noise from rude boaters who played extremely loud music throughout the night with no regard for the other guests. It did not seem like the hotel could manage it.

So I went back home for a quick weekend unwind trip. Booked my stay online for 3 nights. On the 2nd night I decided to extend my stay 1 more night. A family member did just that for me. FDA verbally agreed with both the security guard(ponytail man) and myself present. FDA further said I could pay upon CO. The next day housekeeping comes knocking and says there is no extension on my room. Check with FD. As I went back into the room literally 2 minutes later another employee (no name tags) a male who came and asked if I’m checking out cause it’s pass CO time and I need to pay for the room now. So I’m asking him what’s the mixup on my stay. Of course he doesn’t know. As he walks off. Now a new FDA is there and knows nothing about my previous arrangement. I ask her to call her coworker and verify my extension. Arneigh admits that she said it but never changed my reservation or put in any notes. Now this is where it completely goes left. This new FDA wants to charge me a higher rate and proceeds to treat me as I did something wrong. Another guest offers to and pays for my extended night. Because I asked to speak to the Manager. The FDA gives me the GM name but calls someone else on the phone. My mistake was not getting a RECEIPT! One hour later the no name tag super aggressive male employee returns banging knocking on my room door saying “you have to come downstairs now and pay for the extra night. The other guest agreed to pay the difference but now they only want to pay $20”. I’m asking this man why are you trying to intimidate me and my room was paid in full with me standing there. So he said “I didn’t get a receipt right? Well it’s not paid and I need to come now that’s an order! Whatever the initial FDA agreed to with me doesn’t matter!” Excuse you ! That’s your coworker who just admitted she made a mistake and you telling me what? As he saw the front door I proceeded to call the manager who the FDA said to call. An hour later of not getting the manager, the switchboard operator said I’m asking for the wrong manager. That the FDA Gave me the GM instead of the FDM. WHY? Why not give accurate info? Finally got to speak to the FDM and that was mistake #2! She’s only interested in the funds. FDM Goodman had a horrible attitude and wouldn’t listen to my quarry only challenge everything I said. The nerve to have such a bad attitude. Finally spoke to the GM. STILL WASNT MUCH RESOLVE. My quarry was about miscommunication on there behalf and where the money gone from the next guest who paid for my room? Apparently no one addressed it. No one! Lesson learnt. Arneigh was the initial FDA , short security guard was the aggressor along with the FDM Goodman and GM Neely heard me out but was more interested in defending the unknown. Seems like since things slow in Freeport any opportunity to scam funds from guests at this hotel is accepted and encouraged. Oh yea ,on my receipt I got had F&B charges added on and taken off. How is it possible wh

Yes, just like these reviews say, it needs some renovations, especially after the hurricane, but they are working on it with the resources they have! Every day, they are improving a room! It is only a quick walk to their pool, which has an awesome slide over their grotto swim up bar. Also there are hammocks, pool volleyball nets, and tanning/wading areas. The beach is gorgeous! I loved the Lucaya marketplace, once I found it 😂 The people there are so friendly! We made great connections! Big Mama, the excursion specialist, made so many things happen for us!! Our trip wouldn’t have been as awesome without her, Patrice, and Tammy (sp?) we love y’all! Love Nat and Amanda 😊

Went to take a fishing trip with friends who have stayed at Flamingo in the past . We were just looking for convenience and a room as we knew we would not be spending much time on the property . The Manager was very accommodating and the rooms although not certainly luxurious but clean and simple . We went to the pool and it was very nice . It depends what you are looking for , however , if you want to fish out of Lucaya, I would recommend . I might add the marina is right outside your room so it is very convenient and safe.
