Hotels Near Villa Falconieri in Frascati

I chose this hotel because we needed a place to stay for just one night before an early morning flight out of Fiumicino after our time in Tuscany (It is an easy 35-minute drive to the airport on Sunday morning), but I wish we could have stayed longer! The staff was so friendly on check-in and told us that we were welcome to explore the public areas of the villa, which are covered with beautiful paintings and frescos. They provided us with a write-up on the very interesting history of the Villa. Our rooms (we booked two for our family) were very clean and good-sized, with comfortable beds. Yes, the wifi was spotty, and the rooms could use a little updating in terms of things like outlets), but they really had everything we needed and the charm of the place makes up for those things. One room had a beautiful view of Rome, especially at night! We also ate dinner in the hotel's elegant restaurant and it was a perfect last meal before we left Italy. The service was wonderful, prosecco was flowing freely, and the food was delicious!

We had a fabulous stay in this authentic beautiful hotel. I loved the linen sheets and the towels were lovely and plush. The rooms are very comfortable and the mosaic bathroom tiles are exquisite. The food in the tavern was excellent. Breakfast was lovely once it was understood what we wanted each day. A couple of negatives ... We had to ask for a chair so that my husband could sit at the desk to use his laptop. The pillows were all flat . An assortment of pillows on a meu would have been preferable . There was a rain shower which is good for hair washing days. I prefer a shower coming from the wall , however, this one was attached half way down the wall. It would have been perfect if it had been attached further up so you could stand under it. Even though the bath looked aesthetically pleasing I did not find it practical to climb in and out. Especially with mobility issues. These issues did not detract us from having a lovely stay. This hotel is absolutely worth considering. Thank you for a wonderful time.

We visited here for 4 nights whilst we were in the area for a wedding. The hotel room itself was clean and spacious with a small balcony, although it would have been nice if the balcony had chairs. The hotel itself is in a rural location, and it would have been beneficial to have a car. The hotel helped us contact local taxi companies when we needed to get about. The breakfast was quite basic, toasties, pastries, cereal and fruit. We also did not see a restaurant/bar so facilities were limited.

Repeat visit to this hotel. Blend of traditional and modern that works well. Spectacular views across the lake, Meals in the restaurant directly overlooking the lake, views are breathtaking. Hotel is opposite the Popes summer residence, which you can see clearly across the lake. Access to lake from hotel, down some steps, you can also walk to other restaurants and bars in about 20 minutes

We are currently on a 5 week trip around Europe, and have been staying at accomodation that advertises similar processes and facilities throughout. This is by far the worst place we have stayed and the only time I have ever had to request a room change (or even report a problem) to reception. We arrived in the evening and found that our room (suite 24) was very hot. We couldn’t figure out how to use the thermostat on the wall so asked at reception for some help. After a while the lady from reception arrived and also couldn’t figure out how to turn down the temperature. We also asked for an additional pillow each as the one we had been provided was very flat. When the receptionist arrived she agreed it was hot, and that she couldn’t hear the air conditioning working. After some troubleshooting she was unable to fix the problem, and left to go and contact her manager, and never came back. I went down to reception a little later to follow up, but it was closed for the night and nobody would answer the phone. We had to sleep with the window and door open for the first night, because the temperature continued to rise. Unfortunately this meant our sleep was disturbed by the very loud planes flying to/from the nearby airport. My partner went to shower and found that within a few minutes water was overflowing from the shower tray, as the drain appeared to be blocked. We also had constant issues with WiFi connectivity. It took several minutes to load the results of a google search, and I was unable to purchase a train ticket online for over 30 minutes due to the poor internet speeds. Streaming was out of the question. To make things worse there was only 1 bar of cell phone signal in our room, so using mobile data was also proving difficult. We had to catch a train in to Rome early the next morning and nobody (other than than serving breakfast) was at reception when we left, so we messaged them and asked them to follow up and fix the problems we had discovered, or change us to a different room. A few hours later we got a reply informing us that the air conditioning for the building had been disabled as they had decided it was cold enough at night to turn on the radiators. This meant that no guests had the ability to control the temperature of their individual suites. We asked for our air conditioning to be turned on or to receive compensation for this advertised feature not being available, but this request was declined. Our request for the internet to be fixed was also unsuccessful, with the only advice being “It’s fine, just reconnect” which failed to help. I completed an internet speed test which only could capture a speed of 3mbpd. We regret booking this accomodation. On both nights we were very hot and uncomfortable. I haven’t even mentioned the fact that our bed creaked loudly with the slightest movement. I would not recommend La Villetta Suite to anyone.

The hotel is very beautiful and elegant; it is located in Castel Gandolfo and enjoys a great view of the lake Albano, so it is very quiet. The rooms are large and comfortable; even if they have some details to review. Breakfast is absolutely high; it has a wide range of high quality sweet and salty products. The staff is friendly and available. Parking is very comfortable. The hotel is excellent because it is a few minutes' walk from the centre of Castel Gandolfo.

The hotel is located outside of the city centre of Rome. Although it is situated near a station on Line C of metro, it is not convenient to carry your baggage to the hotel. We took uber when we check out. However, I would recommend this hotel to budget travellers as everything is decent except the location.

OK, let's not beat around the bush: this is the worst hotel I have stayed at for a very, very long time ! I was there for work, with a group of colleagues, and we ended up demanding a refund several days before we were due to leave because there were so many things wrong with this hotel. As soon as we arrived, the first issue arose: there was zero Wifi in the room I was given (even though we had emphasised before that we needed at least semi-decent Wifi for work). In order to get any kind of Wifi, I had to swap for a room without any air-con (bearing in mind that temperatures were - on some days - above 30 degrees C). So for minimal Wifi (between 1 and 2 bars), I now had to permanently leave my windows open throughout the night, so that I wouldn't wake up soaked in sweat in the mornings. Wifi throughout the hotel was a problem as well - there were hardly any areas where there was decent Wifi - I tried to make a Whatsapp voice call to my office in quite a few areas of the hotel and was usually cut off after about 10-20 seconds or so. Next issue: breakfast - first of all, the quality and selection of food available was very poor - in the bowl of fruit, there were frequently several fruits that were clearly rotting (which seems to indicate that none of the staff ever properly check). Also, whenever a guest is finished with their breakfast and leaves, it seems that none of the staff properly clean the tables afterwards - pretty much every breakfast I was down there, all the tables were still dirty and not properly laid with new cutlery. When I pointed this out to a member of staff, she just laughed at me and didn't do anything. Next issue - noise levels during the night: during several nights I was there, there was an unacceptable level of loud noise going on until the early morning hours - people shouting, partying, etc (at some point, it sounded like there were about 20-30 people or so in the room above me having a party until about 2am). Obviously, the fact that I had to keep my windows open because of the lack of air-con didn't help. Next issue - mould (or 'muffa' in Italian): in my bathroom there were clear signs of mould on the walls - because of all the other issues, I didn't even bother to tell the hotel about this. Finally - management & staff: First of all, I want to emphasise that there were some members of staff who were perfectly friendly (and almost seemed apologetic at times about the state of this hotel themselves). But some of the staff (at breakfast, for example), clearly did not give a s*** about the guests and did nothing at all to help. The manager - and I am guessing a lot of the flaws of the hotel and the staff attitude stem directly from him - was completely disinterested in any form of criticism (or anything else at all, really). He couldn't even be bothered to look up and acknowledge guests when they walked past reception and at some point, when my colleague wanted his room keys, basically just threw them at him. Liked the location of the hotel in EUR Rome. The rooms are nice and clean, good TV channels including BBC and CNN. The experience was ruined by the 1 hour + noise from the trucks loading and unloading skips in the next door Euromax shopping centre. The banging noise is horrendous. Sara did offer to replace my room but as i had 1 more night i didn't bother. The breakfast area is very busy and chaotic, takes a long time to get coffee from the Barista's. The breakfast items are okay but nothing substantial, they are very supermarket affair. The corridors are boring and dull and definitely 3 stars. The staff are friendly and helpful. The Euromax shopping centre next door is an excellent diversion on a rainy day.

The room itself it's very nice, very spacious and the bed was comfortable. The location was great too, a very decent distance to all the attractions around by walk e.g Trevi Fountain.. alternatively bus stop is very near. Staffs were not that helpful as we have requested slippers few times and none was sent throughout a two day stay. One male staff at the front desk doesn't look at you when you're talking to them, which is very rude in my opinion.
