Royal Inn Beach Hutchinson Island

The staff was friendly, but the owner should be ashamed. The room lacked so much maintenance and was so beat up. Big scratches on the door (from a dog, I'm guessing), rusted hinges, toilet rocked, toilet seat so old it the finish was wearing off, old plumbing just left in the wall, caulk job looked like from a 5 year old and was black with mildew, smelled bad (couldn't quite figure out what the smell was) and the white comforter was stained - the first one so bad I exchanged for clean one, but got another and another(!) stained one. Also advertised as ocean view (we knew it was across the street), but couldn't see from 2nd floor because of the dunes. The TV set up ****** - only got Pluto - had I known I could have brought my passwords for streaming. This place could be so cute though - needs a handy person to spend minimal money to make it sooooo much more inviting. One positive is had great water pressure and nice hot water.

My room was extremely clean! The sheets were silky smooth and they had multiple pillow options for different comfort levels. The guy that helped me check in was named Evan, he was very nice and helpful. The location was perfect as well as it's in between 2 major highways. I would definitely stay here again if I find myself near this area again.

Firstly SUPER CLEAN! Inside AND Outside. CLEEEAN! Usually I hate hotels with carpet, but it was so clean I genuinely felt comfortable taking my socks off!!! And after one full night of walking basically barefoot through the room the bottom of my feet were clean!!!!! And the beds are SO COMFORTABLE!!!! I really only have two negative things to say which I will stay below. The Front Desk lady at first Kind of acted as if I was slightly bothersome, Which rubbed Me the wrong way at first especially after she informed me that there was a $50 deposit which was not told to me earlier over the phone or before purchasing a room or after. And at first she was uncaring. But they were busy, I have a job as well and sometimes I can be slightly shorter with some customers, it's never anything personal, we're human, but at the end of it she actually made an exception to the deposit because I was not informed. Which totally made up what I felt at first. She actually turned out to be very kind and caring. so this negative one actually wasn't that negative.. lol Now .. the breakfast 😂. PITIFUL!!! It's not nasty. Or gross.. it's just, bleh.. beagles. Bread. Maybe ONE hot dish if your lucky. Only decent thing is One Waffles maker for a HUGE hotel. Which most hotels That serve breakfast. So again it's not bad, just nothing special.. one could even say subpar, I mean the Comfort suites which is right across the street which is much cheaper has two times better breakfast.. but nothing compares to the Home2 rooms. The rooms make up for the lousy breakfast. The bathrooms!! Have FULL bottles of really good conditioner, shampoo on my antibody wash as well as hand soap and lotion. The Smart Tvs are AWESOME! Incredibly high definition and pretty big!! And the walls are pretty thick and soundproof, you might hear a door open or close next to you once in awhile but you don't really hear people talking or any noises from your neighbor other than the occasional door shutting or opening. And I just have to speak on the breakfast part one more time, their breakfast bar the way it's set up you would think it was going to be so extravagant. When it's worse than. Comfort suites and comfort suites set. Is ... Let's just say not humbled, lol. It definitely less extravagant come up with the breakfast is decent, I have at least two to three hot items. Fix your breakfast and I'll give you five stars all day on everything!!! Oh yeah they also have a gym, as well as fire pits outside which is pretty cool!! And my room, which was the king sweet came with a full size couch, ottoman and what looks like a half kitchen basically with a dishwasher and full sink and even dishes!!

Check in includes waiting for a disgruntled mumbling desk person. After room assignment you will enjoy the fresh fumes of the truck stop that is literally this motels parking lot. As you attempt to get to your assigned room, you will have the opportunity to walk over and around the many shirtless heavily tattooed guests enjoying cigarettes as they size you up. This is not a one off instance as most fronts of rooms feature this highlight. As a bonus, these folks have the bee-bop head/body bounces usually found in only the most crackhead infested areas of your nearby ghetto. If you aren't scared away by the residents (they definitely live there), just wait till you arrive at your room. Upon opening the door, you will be greeted by an overwhelming aroma of stale cigarette that has been barely attempted to be covered up by a dollar store air freshener. The bathroom features a moldy dirt covered showering space. As an added bonus, lifting the comforter off the bed you will be presented with numerous hairs of past victims that have had the joy of staying at this dump. I went to call the front desk but of course there is no phone in the room. To be fair, I have stayed at many dumpy motels in my life. However, this one was without a doubt the absolute worst. I booked this place on a non-refundable deal. Regardless, I would literally pay to not have to stay there. As a matter of fact, that's exactly what I did. 10 minutes after checking in, I was back at the front desk checking out. The lovely woman at the front desk didn't even bother asking why - i'm sure this is a daily occurrence. I am left wondering when they took the pictures they advertise. Maybe this was a decent place in the past. Or... Maybe the residents all had court that day. This place should be condemned. Don't try and save a few dollars and risk it as you'll only end up telling yourself about how that guy from Boston was spot on with his review.
