I want to start out by mentioning that I am an Ambassador level Bonvoy member. I’ve slept in a LOT of beds over the years and I’m intimately familiar w bed sizes. My wife, daughter and I were invited to a wedding in Ft Myers, so we booked well in advance, a double-queen bed room. I received an email verifying the choice. The day that we flew down, after landing, I went to the Bonvoy app to get the gps directions, the room choice was now showing 2 Double beds. I called the hotel and was told that not only were beds in fact Queens, but that the room had been upgraded to a “suite”. When we arrived, the person I had spoken to on the phone again, assured me the beds were queens. Upon entering our room, it was painfully obvious, the beds were doubles. A Full is 54” wide and a Queen is 60”, simple, right? My daughter just happens to be 60” tall, so I asked her to lay across bed and lo and behold, her head and shoulders hung over the edge by about 6”. They were doubles. I went downstairs to discuss and I was assured, “management said they are “small” queens. Huh?! There’s literally not a category of “small queen”. The bottom line is my daughter and I took 1 bed each and my wife slept on a pull out couch. Nice. The room smelled very strongly of some type of cleaner. It was unpleasant. We had ants crawling all over our counter because we had brought some food w us. We had a balcony with nothing to sit on and the room needs to be badly refurbished as the furniture was damaged, scratched, old and tired. Stay at this place at your peril. As a long-time Bonvoy member, I was extremely embarrassed for my family and disappointed that the room was disingenuously advertised as a queen-queen accommodation. Live and Learn, right?!
