We stayed at the Hampton for a baseball tournament. Like a previous review stated, there was a terrible smell upon entering the hotel. No one from the hotel addressed the smell or the situation. We were on the 3rd floor where the smell was worse. Children and parents became ill over the next few days; vomiting, diarrhea, headaches, etc. A city official at our tournament approached us and told us about the softball team who had stayed a week earlier. When I called the GM of the hotel to address the issue, he told me I was lying, that there was no smell, and the info regarding the softball team wasn’t true. Other parents tried to call the GM. He would not return phone calls or refused to speak to them. The final straw was when sewage water started coming up in tubs and a couple of rooms flooded. When we tried to check out, we were told we could not check out. The lady at the front desk was trying to be helpful, but had a supervisor who kept calling her, but the supervisor would not speak to us. We asked to check out and get our receipts and the hotel refused. We finally received our final bill the day after we left the hotel. I have contacted Hampton/Hilton and they have refused to address the issue and keep sending me back to the GM. It is a shame that a hotel knowingly allows people to stay on their property aware that there are health risks.
