Flåm Marina

Flåm Marina ★★★

📍 Vikjavegen 4, Flam

"The location of these 'apartments' is the unique selling point...the view from our terrace overlooking the fjord was stunning. The accommodation itself was fairly basic and as was the service. There's nothing in the room to welcome you, no small gift or welcome basket which you might get at other B&Bs (especially for the price we paid). Luckily, it's only a short stroll into the centre of Flam with its various shops. The on-site Marina restaurant serves up some decent dishes, but it's quite pricey. A bigger issue is breakfast which consisted of a small buffet devoid of any juices or pastries and no cook-to-order options! Ultimately, this place is all about the views."

Vatnahalsen Høyfjellshotell
8.7 (33 reviews)

Vatnahalsen Høyfjellshotell ★★★

📍 Vatnahalsen, Myrdal, Aurland

"The hotel itself and majestic surroundings are reason enough to visit Vatnahalsen, and the food - including daily afternoon waffles with thick cream and berry jam - is enough to keep you coming back. What really makes the hotel so special, though, is the hard-working, super-friendly staff. There doesn’t seem to be any need or want they have not anticipated or are willing to fulfil. Absolute gem of a place, can’t recommend it warmly enough!"

Fretheim Hotel ★★★★
"It is just next to the train station, which allowed me to drop my luggage and be on time for the tour at 2.30pm.  Generally just a normal family room that is suitable for 1 night stay.  I love the breakfast spread, quite unexpected to have a wide selection in this little town.  There is no mini fridge in the room, in case you want to buy dairy products from the supermarket nearby."

Flåmsbrygga Hotel ★★★
"We got a room facing the fjords and the view was chef kiss. The room was comfy, and I personally enjoyed the amenities in the bathroom. Breakfast was nice. We had a succulent dinner at Ægir Microbrewery, and I enjoyed their beer too. They are nice for a wet winter night, and I am sure they will be even better during summer days."

Flåm Marina ★★★
"The Flåm Marina and Apartments in picture perfect Flåm is for me a quaint dreamy get away into the cradle of nature. Getting off the Flåmsbana, you first soak in the 360 degree view of the place all around you. Then you start walking around the edge of the water via the well thought out boardwalk and keep moving as you absorb the vista around you. In about seven to eight minutes, you will be at the side of the Flåm Marina Hotel & Apartments. The White cabins, placed right on the water and floating on it ,are a sight to behold, against the backdrop of the serene, brooding mountain behind. The stillness of the water, the occasional flipping of a water creature and the silence all around engulfs you. You walk around the back of the building to enter the reception area , which is housed along with the restaurant overlooking the Fjord. The rooms are beautifully laid out, with a cozy bedroom and a sitting area with sofa and TV and a terrace opening out on the waterfront. Some rooms have kitchenette , making it convenient, if you want to rustle up some dishes with local stuff like Salmon. Ofcourse you can also eat your regular meals in the restaurant, where you will likely have your breakfast in any case. You can sit on the terrace and watch the day glide by along with the low hanging clouds which make it a point to glide ever so slowly over the Fjord water. Seems, they also don’t want to leave Flåm in a hurry."

"It's pretty good. The location is good, and although it's a shared restroom, it's very clean. The environment is quiet, but the room is a bit small, and it felt a little cramped after opening your suitcase."

"Close to train station, the view is great. You may consider arranging hiking or biking nearby. Facilities are a bit worn out, there is water leakage around the toilet and short electrical supply instability. There is dinner buffet but quite expensive. Staff is nice but A bit overpriced overall."
