I travel with my work and I always stay at this hotel. The front desk is always accommodating and very kind. The hotel is always decorated and everyone is always so friendly. The rooms are very clean, the housekeeping staff is always so accommodating for any special requests. I stopped in for an evening Bite and they had cheesecake :-) it was delicious. The breakfast was very plentiful and had many different options and the staff that was working in the kitchen was very friendly. They asked to make sure everything was just perfect. Fernandina is such a cute town that this hotel is the perfect location. I call it the hidden gem :-) I tried a new restaurant called the patio, which was within walking distance and it was amazing.

Excellent location. You can walk to everything here. Suites are very spacious. Good sized vanities. Plenty of toiletries. Clean. Courteous front desk. Breakfast is included. Mediocre food, but convenient. Women working the dining area don’t seem to have any supervision, maybe management could be more attentive there. The harbor view room was nice. Also stayed in a room facing a restaurant with live music- noisy until 9pm. The biggest downside here were the mattresses. We stayed in a room with two queens and tried sleeping in both beds, but neither one was good. We also had a king room, and mattress was the same. Please upgrade your mattresses, and this hotel would seem much more upscale!

This is a very nice hotel. Check in was good, Katie was very pleasant and helpful. Our room was large and comfortable. Found the hotel to be very clean and good breakfast. Location is not near the beach but is excellent. Walking distance to many fine restaurants and shops. Only stayed one night, but already thinking of making it a longer stay next time to explore the area.

The hotel is beautiful, with a curved staircase in the lobby. Its historic charm would bring me back again. However they’re not the best Hilton hotel at customer service. When we arrived the toilet in our room was overflowing into the floor and they brought us a plunger and towels to take care of it ourselves. The linens were a bit dingy and thin. Its proximity to the downtown shops was great, and the staff were kind. Overall a good hotel, just not five stars.

A hotel with entertainment, dining, live music, and a historic harbor/waterfront less than a football field away? This hotel pulls it off! Stand on the sidewalk just outside the office and there are a plethora of restaurants and entertainment right there in view. An eclectic multitude of local stores and shops, each with their own unique flair are accessible with just a short walk of a few minutes. Right behind the hotel, just across a rail line is the harbor and waterfront with a terrific view of the sunset over the Amelia River. The location alone gives this hotel a terrific value. Inside, the room was smaller than a lot of newer hotels I've stayed at, but the room was clean and well kept. There was one small piece of corner trim board pulled loose right next to the bed, but that was the only flaw I noticed. Breakfast was included with waffles, omelets, pastries, cereal, and fruit available along with a great view of the waterfront from the breakfast area. Parking is quite tight and requires a parking permit from the hotel office. The drive around the hotel is VERY narrow, and the lot fills up quick. If you can't find a spot in the parking lot or along the driveway, check the gravel overflow lot UNDER the building on the back side of the hotel. There are several spots underneath building right on the ground level. No matter if you're coming to Fernandina/Amelia Island for the shopping, the nightlife, or the beach, give this hotel a look.

My husband and I decided to stay at the Hampton inn Amelia Suites Amelia Island last night. First the cost was 435 a night, which we thought was outrageous, but decided to treat ourselves. First the check in was not pleasant. The front desk attendant was not friendly at all. When we arrived there was a sign stating she would return in 15 minutes and was away. When she showed up we did not get a hello, not a welcome , nothing. I had to speak first and say hello and that we had a reservation. I gave her our information and she pulled it up and handed us our keys. Second we were awoken by a very loud train whistle between 530-600 am the next morning. Which continued about every hour. This was not mentioned to us at all upon making the reservation or at the check in by the hotel front desk attendant. Third, the next morning when we went to take a shower we turned the water on to the red area and there was no hot water. We let it run for about 5 minutes and still no hot water. We called the front desk and they sent up the maintenance man who told us that the shower dial was backwards and we needed to put it on cold for it to be hot. He said they did this during refurbishing the rooms as they didn’t want to redo the shower controls because they would have had to tear out the walls. We asked him if maybe they could put a sign up so people would know. He told us that would take too much to do professional signs. My husband told him an easy handwritten sign would suffice and he just looked at us and said he has told the front desk this information. Well, our check in clerk didn’t tell us anything. We are Hilton Honors members and I can say I have stayed in less expensive Hampton Inn’s and have much better stays. Just remember the more you pay doesn’t mean it will be a better stay.

I stayed two nights one week and two nights another with customers. Location was good other than proximity of railway tracks with wakeup train early in the morning. Breakfast was a weak point - no greek yoghurt, only cheap yoplait, which should not qualify as yoghurt since I don’t believe it actually has any live bacteria; none listed in ingredients.
