Have stayed at Orwell Hotel many times. First time in 2002!
Great location, very comfortable and clean, great breakfasts, plenty of lounge space.
My only quibble was that hotel didn't really seem geared up for dinners/lunches, maybe there is less demand for these nowadays. In the past the main dining room has been used and it was more formal/smarter.

The first room I checked in, I couldn't get in with my card, the door lock was broken, I checked in again and got another room. The equipment and furniture in the room were too old, and the bedding and carpets were not very clean. If you are lucky enough to live in a room with windows facing the outside, Congratulations to you, your house can be ventilated. You can feel it internally. The reception during check-in and check-out was very good, no problem.
