First room had noisy a/c unit in state of disrepair and toilet constantly running water. Attentive staff moved us to another satisfactory room. Someone entered room at 10 pm with pass key, never did find out what was the reason. Unexpected incursion upset the wife. Breakfast had little in way of protein such as egg and no fruit. 129 dollar rate with taxes jto 143. Expected more but it was quite with a reasonable number of Saturday night guests. Beautiful setting along river and walking trail.

Room 204, 2 room suite with whirlpool. Bedroom curtains completely transparent with no blinds. Security lights from gas station completely illuminate bedroom at night. AC too cold when on, blowing directly on bed and even with booster fan does not cool entry room off hallway. Noise from BLARING TV in dining area and bar without a door made it impossible to sleep. Most expensive room in hotel was a terrible experience. 1st hotel in 10 years I stayed that had no USB ports. Owners need to stay in this room without informing staff and see how bad it is. Bring your pajamas because everyone outside can see into your bedroom at night. I did not go ask for a different room to be fair, but a guest should not have to be accommodated, they should expect everything to be perfect and what they paid for the first time.

Spotless, quiet, safe. Have stayed here several times happily. The only improvement would be better pillows, so perhaps BYO. You can get a standard breakfast with cold cereal, waffle iron, yogurt, coffee. Check out the nice walking trail just north of Upper Iowa University campus.

The hotel was clean, quiet, and comfortable. It is very welcoming in the lobby with a fireplace and large area to relax. Way more than I expected for this small town. Would recommend for families also since it has a big pool as well as board games for kids and adults.

Rooms were comfortable as always. Wish we had eggs and breakfast sausages though, lol. I’ll be returning to stay here in April of this year. I’m pretty sure my stay will just be as amazing as it was before. I hope that they’ll be eggs and sausages next time. My cousin also enjoy her stay as a first time visitor in Fayette

We stayed here for a couple of nights this last weekend. While the room was very musty/moldy smelling we figured for the price we paid we'd just suck it up. The room was decent otherwise. What wasn't so good was the extra charge we got a few days after check-out because they say we stole 2 washcloths and 1 hand towel! Why would someone steal flimsy, see-through washcloths and a hand towel?? You know, the very thin ones you expect at a gym. Very disappointed to be accused of stealing anything! We won't be staying here again and don't recommend anyone else to either. It's definitely worth the extra drive to West Union or Oelwein for a hotel.

We stayed here for a wedding. When we got there we noticed the room smelled musty. In the morning we woke up very congested and with headaches. The room was warm so we went to turn on the air conditioner. When we did this we noticed mold all in the air vents. We reported it to the front desk and they told us we "must not be from Iowa" and that "it was from the rain outside". We took pictures and showed them the ac unit and they continued to argue it was just dirt. We immediately cancelled another night stay in that unhealthy environment. After we left another family member who was staying in a different room heard the cleaning workers talking about the mold and the room was closed with a sticky note staying do not enter. Did not refund us our stay. Highly recommend never staying here. Will be reporting to health department.

I would not stay here again. We were desperate as we wanted to go to Decorah but didn't realize it was Luther's homecoming so everything there was booked. I would search a lot further instead of staying here again. The beds had no support, pillows cheap and the breakfast was searched in crockpots and donuts/english muffins stuffed in zip lock bags. I turned on the heat/fan for noise and the worst smell ever came out....not the kind of smell you get from first use. The workers were pleasant though, not their fault that the hotel is old.

The hotel was clean. The hotel has no elevator so you will need to carry luggage to 2nd floor. Beds were not hard. Breakfast eggs were rubbery. Staff was helpful. We had trouble unlocking the door to our room several times. Need to put the key card in the slot perfectly or the door won’t open.
