The Princess Royal

A lovely pub with spotlessly clean rooms and good food. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. We had dinner and it was the best pie I have had in a long time. We slept well, the shower was marvellous although we had a slight problem with the water running away slowly, we reported it and it was dealt with swiftly. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Would love to go back when we are that way again.

This was our fourth visit and the checking in process was as professional as ever. The food was of a good quality and service was excellent. The room was very clean and the free mineral water and tea/coffee facilities were a nice change from other hotels. The rooms are in a separate building from the pub and were very quiet with no disturbance. Breakfast was extensive and hot options are cooked to order which is preferable to a buffet. Happy to recommend the establishment and will visit again.

We popped in today for Father’s Day lunch. Bar staff were friendly and helpful. There was even a craft area for my little girl to enjoy whilst we had a drink. Roast arrived - great tasting even the roast potatoes were fresh and tasted home cooked! (Makes a change). We decided to sit outside, which is bar service only - unfortunately after finishing our dinners, we asked a member of staff to clear our plates, to be told ‘no I’m collecting glasses at the moment’ Even though no one had been out the whole time and we had glasses gathering! This is fine, however he could’ve appointed someone to do this but instead we had to take our plates inside ourselves, not great service.

Great staff and wonderful food. Rooms are in a different building so no noise from the pub. Great place to stay. Rooms are large and very comfortable. Extremely well finished with modern facilities. The staff were helpful and welcoming and looked after us extremely well

We went for Dinner and the new comedy store. Michael was our server and he went above and beyond to help ensure it was a great meal. This guy could work in a top end restaurant with his attitude. The food was good and the comedy night made for a good evening

My husband and I came back with our little boy after staying here towards the end of 2020. It was lovely then and even better this time. We stayed in a beautiful suite that felt really special but cosy too. The room was clean, the facilities in the room were very good and the bathroom was lovely too. Breakfast was very good and the staff were so helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and we will definitely be back again! Thank you so much

Lovely dog friendly hotel. Clean, great staff. They were all very accommodating. The food was brilliant. We had breakfast and then a big family meal about 15 of us on the Sunday and couldn't fault it. We also really liked the decor in the rooms. Would definitely stay again

Not quite the beautiful rooms I was hoping for. Being my birthday I was hoping for a pleasant enjoyable stay. Arriving after a long journey I was looking forward to a nice and chilled evening. The photos of the rooms look lovely,much better than the the actual rooms. Lacking in attention,tired in areas, and wasn't very clean. Just a note to anyone booking as a family,the sofa bed is the most uncomfortable bed ever. The floor wasn't hoovered very well, there were a number of hairs in the bed.The TV remote looked like it had never been cleaned. There was no fresh smell as you entered the room. After complaining to the polite and helpful guy on the reception,he had a look at the room and agreed it was not exceptable. I changed room's which looked better and seemed a little fresher but again the detail was missed. There were bodily hairs in the sofa bed bed and turning over the pillow there was even spots of blood on it before the bed was even laid in. The positive was the guy on reception who was so helpful and apologetic but I didn't want to complain again. I didn't sleep very well and i was glad for the night to be over. Sadly, it was a very unenjoyable stay
